famyly structure - Nursing
Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care. Conducting a family interview and needs assessment gathers information to identify strengths, as well as potential barriers to health. This information ultimately helps develop family-centered strategies for support and guidance.
This family health assessment is a two-part assignment. The information you gather in this initial assignment will be utilized for the second assignment in Topic 3.
Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health patterns for each of the following:
Values/Health Perception
Nutrition
Sleep/Rest
Elimination
Activity/Exercise
Cognitive
Sensory-Perception
Self-Perception
Role Relationship
Sexuality
Coping
Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the family to conduct an interview. Utilize the inter

Learning styles are strategies that are used to ensure that the learner understands. Using more than one learning style can increase effectiveness. A preferred learning ng style is a way that a learner learns the best. The three different learning styles include visual, write/read, kinaesthetic, aural and multimodal. For teaching or learning to be effective, it is essential to understand the student's preferred learning style. Comment by Jerina, Lori: A clear thesis is needed. See the sample paper.
The purpose of this paper is…… ( then concisely say what you will be writing about)
My current preferred learning style, according to the VARK questionnaire, is read/write. This style is also called the learning second visual modality. In this style, learners absorb and retain most of the information through writing and reading text. Reading is possible through the available materials, such as lecture notes, textbooks and essays. Learning can be done through writing this information. A learner who prefers this mode best understands and stores information in the form of text. Learners and teachers commonly use this form because many people easily understand it. Comment by Jerina, Lori: You did identify your top strategy, but what are your VARK scores? Some expansion could be provided.
Moreover, many people seek after a person who can read and write. Project leaders, employers and institutions seek people who can read and write because it is easy to learn and communicate through this method. Modalities like visual, aural and kinaesthetic are also suitable learning modes that can be combined with the preferred modality to get better results. Comment by Jerina, Lori: Please cite this. Where did this come from or is it your opinion? We only want information from the literature to show we are looking to the evidence
My awareness of the styles of learning has affected my perceptions of teaching and learning in a good way. By knowing the techniques and their strengths, I can choose an approach that I want to use to get the best out of the learning session (Chaudhry et al., 2020). Also, by knowing that people prefer different styles, I can use this information to adopt the best style when teaching according to my students preferred mode of learning. Moreover, knowing the techniques can enable me to revaluate my learning strategies and adopt a better model that will allow me to benefit the most from the learning session. Also, by knowing what my brain understands most, I can communicate with my instructors on the mode I prefer.
Learning styles are essential because they guide a person on how best they can learn. In my VARK questionnaire, while read/ write takes the first position, kinaesthetic takes the second position. This means that by touching or manipulating a material, I can learn. This means making things with my own hands makes me understand better and be able to remember. My strategy for this method is to write. By writing something, I can manipulate them, and this gives me a better understanding. By writing the text sticks to my mind, I can also remember because I was in conduct with the piece where I wrote. Making visuals is also another strategy of reading. Having graphs, timelines and maps give me the ability to remember most and to understand better. Other strategies include using my fingers and having index cards (Parashar et al., 2019). The strategy that I can adopt in my preferred style, read/write, includes having notes lists, words, and texts. These materials help a read/write learner to understand better.
Moreover, writing is also a strategy that can be used in the kinaesthetic style. This means that when these two styles are used together, it is possible to use writing as a strategy. Talks and discussions are other good strategies that are helpful in reading/writing learners. During these talks, ideas are exchanged, and if notes are taken, it is possible to remember the concepts more accessible. In addition discussing may feel like someone is reading an idea loudly to you. This means it is possible to remember easily.
Learning styles affect the learner's understanding and how the learner performs educational activities. Approaches to learning presented by the types are based on the learner's preference, strengths and weaknesses (Stirling, 2017). When a teaching plan is being created, it is crucial to have the learner’s choice in mind to ensure that they benefit from the style included in the plan. The type used to a learner is very important because it determines the amount of understanding the learner will have acquired at the end of the learning session. If the wrong combination of styles is, used, learners may not understand at all or may understand a little hence their performance is decreased. Comment by Jerina, Lori: While good points, what does the literature say? This could be expanded more
An educator must identify individual learning preferences and styles when dealing with learners. Learner’s morale is boosted because their choices are met. When the instructor is aware of the learning preferences of the learners, it is possible to use those styles. Learners understand the most and grasp a lot of content when the instructor uses their preferred style (Bokhari et al., 2019). The learners do not lose interest quickly because they follow what is being taught, and most importantly, they understand.
Understanding the learning styles for people in health promotion is essential. When the learning style is assessed, focus can be shifted to these styles and the correct teaching strategy adopted to improve motivation and make the learning more effective. Desired results are therefore achieved (Zhu et al., 2018). Learning styles affect behavioural change because, through education, people can retain information that can influence change in their behaviour. If information is not understood, there is the possibility that there will be no behavioural change. Learning styles, therefore, influence behavioural change because, through them, knowledge is understood.
In health promotion, engaging learners in a conversation to discuss their preferred styles can accommodate different learning styles. When diverse learners propose different health promotion learning styles, the instructor can combine the most preferred styles with improving effectiveness.

Thank you for your paper. See my comments and corrections as well as the grading rubric. You did a good job reflecting on how learn best, and did identify your VARK assessment results. The other elements needed some expansion. Be sure that you are looking to the literature to support your statements. You do have some extensive formatting to fix and need to use headings to show organization in your paper. A clear introduction, thesis and conclusion is needed as well as a correct reference page as well.
