Apart from attending to patients, the hospital also provides healthcare students with an environment to learn and practice care delivery to patients. The hospital has a capacity bed on 450 patients. However, the hospital’s ambulatory unit is experiencing major problems, necessitating training needs assessment (TNA) to identify the key areas that require improvement. There are several performance gaps in the healthcare facility, though skills and mental health gaps are the most critical. These have been primarily caused by the increasing number of patients that visit the hospital’s ambulatory unity every day. The TNAs main objective is to ensure that practitioners working in the ambulatory department have the necessary skills to meet the needs of patients seeking ambulatory services.
