Excel Assignment 2 - Economics
See attachmentQMBS 3360 Data Project Guidelines:
(I). The data project should be based on a dataset which you select, probably downloaded from some public web source, and which I suggest ought to have at least n=50 observations, a continuous response variable Y, and at least several other meaningful continuous or categorical explanatory X-columns. Ideally, since you will be looking for relationships between the X and Y columns, the source and subject matter of the data should relate to a topic about which you have some general knowledge to aid you in asking and answering meaningful research questions relevant to the data.
(II). The objective of your data project should be to discover and present
a regression-type statistical model you can in EXCEL to explain the Y responses in your dataset in terms of the X explanatory variables. A successful project will relate the research questions to a regression-type model, use techniques developed in the QMBS 3360 course to build the best such model you can for the data
(III). It is not required that your data analysis project be completed/finished in the
sense of necessarily reaching firm conclusions about a realistic problem, but you should make some effort to showcase tools learned in the course; not all tools should be there, but at lease few things you comfortable with. Demonstrate that you have uncovered the regression-model structure of the data that was possible with a reasonable amount of effort.
(IV). Do not hand in raw data or any computations or pictures you do not explicitly refer to in accompanying text. You must briefly explain the research problem, methodology and solution in words, with reference to pictures and numerical exhibits. Hand in no less than 6 pages in a reasonable sized font and spacing. Joint Probability Tables (

*** As I told you earlier, I am not going to make groups. However, you want you can find another 2 class mates and do a group project with 3 max per team. You can also do it by yourself without making groups. In that way you will learn a lot since you will do everything by yourself.QMBS 3360-600, Business Statistics II, Spring 2021, CRN: 22610

Catalog Course Description: This course is a continuation of Business Statistics I. This series explores
descriptive and inferential statistical techniques for business and economic decision making. Building on
the concepts and applications learned in QMBS/BUAD 2305, this course focuses on statistical concepts
including, but not limited to, hypothesis testing, goodness-of-fit, tests of independence, analysis of
variance (ANOVA), linear and multiple regression, and time series.
Course Objectives: The objective of the course is to provide the student with knowledge of the
statistical methods to solve different types of business problems
Prerequisites: QMBS/BUAD 2305 with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
Student Learning Outcomes:
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. To statistically describe data in a frequency distribution table.
2. To statistically describe data in a variety of graphs
3. To statistically describe measures of location and dispersion
4. To be able to construct a probability distribution discretely
5. To be able to construct a probability distribution normally
6. To be able to apply and construct sampling methods and sampling distributions
7. To be able to develop and test hypothesis
8. To be able to apply correlations and regression
AACSB Assessment: The College of Business is in the process of applying for AACSB accreditation.
As part of that process, students will be assessed on program level outcomes based on course outcomes
from various courses. The materials from this course may be used for assessing such program level
outcomes, and hence students must follow the necessary rigor to ensure mastery and retention of the
above course outcomes.
