To receive credit, you must complete the competency assessment. You may contact your professor if you have any questions. This competency assessment (CA) assesses your level of performance on the specific Outcome(s) that are the focus of this module. The CA requires you to demonstrate your knowledge, understanding, and proficiency of the Outcome(s). Be sure to use the other activities in this module prior to attempting the CA. You may attempt the CA multiple times within the term. However, the CA must be completed successfully by the end of the term to earn credit. The Researched Proposal This competency assessment assesses the following Outcomes: GB512M3-3: Analyze business problems using research. PC-5.1: Use language that is clear, concise, and organized. The researched proposal must be no fewer than 2,500 words, no more than 3,000. The word count includes all components. The purpose of establishing a word count is to ensure the topic chosen is neither too big nor too small. Also, writing within parameters is a common requirement in business communications. The problem or issue need not be enormous. For the researched proposal, identify a problem or issue in your present or past workplace, or your community. The assessment objective is to propose a solution to the problem or issue, and to present that solution to a decision-maker or group of decision-makers who can implement the recommendation. You will support your proposal with research. You will develop a concrete, practical solution to the problem that can be implemented. Reference sources will be included that explain the problem, issue, and/or support the solution.
