Systems Analysis and Design Project Part - Information Systems
I need the following; Create an event table, a context diagram, and a Diagram 0 to describe your company’s wants and needs that are relevant to your IoT solution. Everything you need is provided in the folder, it needs to pass safe assign checks
Part #1 - System Vision Document
The company that I will use in this project is a fictional online marketplace for buying and reselling shoes. The company will employ 50 people and will include a management structure along with divisions for shipping/fulfillment, sales, cataloging and a small developing force to handle the online platform. The issue this company has is managing their sales pipeline from the customer purchasing shoes to the shoes getting delivered and also the process for people trying to list their shoes for consignment. That involves receiving the shoe shipment, checking for authenticity and cataloging, then making sure the shoes get delivered to the buyer thus completing the sales pipeline.
The IoT system will consist of barcode scanners, image capturing machines (3D scanners), an in house storage management/fulfillment software, and an employee tracking system for time worked. The scanners will be used to collect information off of shoes like the serial number and manufacturer information. Image capturing software will be used to determine the model and size of the shoe in order to cross check with the employee examination. Once the information about serial number and size has been collected the shoes will be authenticated by hand and the employee will log time according to the model of shoe in order to optimize the process so that employees will get the shoe they are best at using. This data will be used to track the shipping and payment of each shoe but also by storing the information related to shoes there will be an artificial intelligence system that automatically adjusts the online price listing of these shoes based on the amount of inventory available and the demand for that product.
By implementing this IoT system the amount of employee labor needed to fufill orders can be drastically reduced, since manual labor will always be a part of the process it will be a crucial advantage over other competitors to have a low labor cost. There will also be an increased amount of trust from consumers considering that the prices and inventory information for shoes will be listed and updated in real time on their ecommerce platform. These strategies implemented in the proper way will ensure that the business model is successful.
MIS 605 Systems Analysis and Design
Fall 2021
Course Project
THE SCOPE
The project is intended to get the student further acclimated to systems analysis and design in a real business environment. Students will use Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) techniques and methodologies to design Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that include artificial intelligence.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
The project paper must follow these guidelines:
· Have the following appearance:
· Typed
· Double-spaced
· 12 point type
· Diagrams may be drawn by hand
· Include citations
· Follow applicable guidelines in the syllabus (e.g., plagiarism, etc.)
· Include:
· Valid concepts and issues
· Specific, factual statements (general statements need to be backed up)
· Logical and efficient arguments
· Well-thought out analysis and applications
· Proper grammar, spelling, and composition
· Work through your IoT solution using the SDLC.
· Clearly show the connections between the SDLC and your IoT solution.
· Show the factors and logic involved in your decision making.
· While a budget is not provided, solutions should have a reasonable cost.
· Solutions must be complete.
· If you’re asked to create four types of diagrams to meet a requirement, make sure you create enough (4+) diagrams to fulfill the requirement (i.e., in addition to creating four types of diagrams, you may need to create multiple diagrams of one type of diagram).
· Project parts must be submitted to Blackboard by the due date. Late project parts received via email less than 12 hours after the due date will be graded for half credit. Papers received the day following the due date will be graded for one-quarter of the credit. Project parts received later than the following day will receive a maximum score of 1 point (project parts stop being accepted for a maximum score of 1 point when the next exam starts).
DELIVERABLES
PART 1 (50 points): Due September 11
Create a System Vision Document for a company.
· The company (or other organization) may be real or fictional.
· Your paper should include no more than one brief paragraph about the company.
· This paragraph should include enough information about your company and its products and/or services to reveal the relevance of its Internet of Things (IoT) solution.
· State the problem or opportunity that creates the need for your IoT solution.
· If you’re not familiar with IoT solutions, you can find many examples online.
· State the IoT solution’s capabilities. The solution must include the following:
· Automatic data collection (e.g., sensors, etc.)
· Data sharing from one system (or subsystem) to another
· The transformation of data into information
· Artificial intelligence (e.g., information may trigger a response).
· State the business benefits of your IoT solution.
· Write a summary of your Part 1 work that will be added to parts 2-5 of this project.
PART 2 (100 points): Due September 25
Do the following to describe your company’s wants and needs for its Internet of Things (IoT) solution.
· Include your Part 1 brief summary to provide context for your Part 2 diagrams.
· Create at least four different types of diagrams to describe your company’s wants and needs that are relevant to your IoT solution.
· Create at least four of these five types of diagrams: activity diagram, domain class diagram, system sequence diagram, use case diagram, and state machine diagram.
· You may need to create more than four diagrams to describe all of the relevant wants and needs
PART 3 (50 points): Due October 16
Continue to describe the business wants and needs for your company’s Internet of Things (IoT) solution.
· Include your Part 1 summary to provide context for these diagrams.
· Create an event table, a context diagram, and a Diagram 0 to describe your company’s wants and needs that are relevant to your IoT solution
PART 4 (100 points): Due November 20
Describe the technological solution for your company’s Internet of Things (IoT) solution.
· Include your Part 1 summary to provide context for these diagrams.
· Create diagrams that describe the technological solutions for your IoT solution
· Use all of these diagram types: communication diagram, design class diagram, package diagram, sequence diagram,
PART 5 (50 points): December 4
Continue to describe the technological solution for your company’s Internet of Things (IoT) solution.
· Include your Part 1 summary to provide context for these diagrams.
· Create a network diagram and use textual description to reveal how the components fit together.
· Include a list and description of the IoT components
· For each component:
· State the component’s name
· Provide a brief description of the component’s function in your IoT solution
· List the price (estimates are acceptable if an actual price can’t be found) and cite your source
· Cover the relevant SDLC issues that need to be considered for selecting and implementing your IoT solution
· For each relevant issue:
· List the issue
· State the reason the issue is important
· Describe how your solution addresses the issue
· Include methods to evaluate the outcome of your solution.
