Are we Zombies or Zombie Slayers?
The majority of human beings gracing the universe are afraid of zombies in one way
or the other, and many times, concerted efforts are put to get rid of them. The existence of
zombies tends to make life difficult for human beings. Zombies are said to cause not only fear
but may also be capable of transmitting illnesses that, in their worst situations, could lead to the
death of human beings. Given that zombies are human-look alike but with lack of conscience,
dealing with them may not be easy and given the debilitating consequences that come along with
their existence, they are an enemy, and for that matter, the best treatment that mankind can
warrant them is killing them and dismembering their bodies and brains. Some of the zombies
most disliked tendencies by the living include spreading fear among people because of their
scary nature and their rare ability to bite and even spread diseases that may end up being
detrimental to the existence of mankind. Given that zombies do not have the consciousness to
remember or the ability to gain experience, killing them may not be a difficult undertaking; the
only issue that may crop up as a result of their presence is their colossal numbers. They are
many, and they replicate very fast, and amidst this, they remain horrific and terrifying.
The nature of the human being is that we are afraid of what grapples us with fear.
Anything that causes fear induces stress to human beings, and this may cause retarded growth in
children, and it could also lead to the total demise and collapse of individuals with various health
conditions such as heart problems. Therefore, as a big source of fear, the natural response of
human beings towards it would be to eliminate its existence by trying every means possible.
Moreover, zombies are believed to be human beings who demised but came back without senses
to create mayhem to the living. This alone is negative publicity in the name of zombies, and this
gives them a little chance, majority of us believe that if someone dies, they are supposed never to
be seen again when they reappear like zombies, it is voodoo to many socio-cultural
organizations; therefore a means to restore normalcy by getting rid of it would ensue, this would
involve the killing of the zombie if need be.
The possibility of a zombie apocalypse dawning on earth and taking over has made
us an enemy of the Zombies. The observations, research and case studies suggest a scenario
where the universe would be taken over by the zombies. According to Parker, zombies attacked a
human being as depicted in the case where Barbara and Johnny were victims. Therefore, parker
prepared people to stay alert for the possibility of zombies occurring at any given time is taken
seriously with the appropriate measures deployed just to scuttle their possible insurgence and
probable takeover. The fact that zombies are projected to one day take over the world has been a
threat to the world inhabitants. The world is a territory graced by the living, and a possible
takeover by the undead may be met with the fiercest resistance possible. Naturally, human beings
love it when inanimate objects play roles and behave like them; however, when the similarity
becomes too close, human beings would repulse and start feeling insecure. This is for the case of
the other inanimate objects, the case presented by the zombies is slightly worse as they are
human-look alike minus a few characters, with some believed to maintain their identity in their
previous lives. This makes them more sinister and most natural enemies to humans. Apart from
being the natural enemies, the zombies come accompanied by life-threatening abilities, which
further worsen the situation.
According to Klosterman, humans are even afraid to think about the zombies; their shape
and actions are too frightening. Therefore, humans are not ready for the zombie apocalypse, and
for that matter, the possibility of occurrence of the zombies would be repulsed as it comes in bits.
The zombie apocalypse, if occurs, may only mean that human ceases taking charge of the
universe as this would mean that the current generation gracing the universe would be defaced
by the invasion of the zombies, as zombies may not live with the people in one place, at least one
has to exit the scenes. What is meant by zombie takeover may mean a fight that would occur
between humans and the undead, in the situation where the zombies would be taking charge
could only mean humanity is defeated, and they are either joining the zombies as fellow undead,
or they are just completely gotten rid of by the enemies. Zombie world takeover would be one of
the most dehumanizing experiences to ever occur in the universe, and therefore, its aversion is
the only option humans have to contain it. It is upon this that humanity has created natural hate
towards the zombies, and the only discussion about them is how to kill them.
Human beings suppress the existence of zombies. A lot of theories have been
developed over time by various people and philosophers on the existence of zombies. Many
authors and editors of various publications paint zombies in the bad light. This negative publicity
by the various individuals always aims at negating the existence of zombies. Apart from the
plans to kill them physically, zombies have been declared in several publications as bad, whose
existence is not recommended in the universe. This is evidenced enough of the many attempts by
the human race to eliminate the talks surrounding the undead. Moreover, out of the many
published works and movies where zombies are involved, they are always depicted as bad
creatures associated with evil. While there could be benefits accrued to the existence of the
zombies, no one talks about them. Everyone’s lips seem to talk ill about them. Traditionally
during the origin and discovery of the zombie in the lands of Haiti, it is evident that the zombie
aided in activities such as work in farms and plantations. This has evolved over time until it has
reached a point when no one talks about a zombie as the creature that could be used for such
purposes as farming and gardening but a discerned creature that is associated with bad omen,
evil, and spread of diseases and feeder of human flesh. While all these atrocities attributed to
zombies could be true from the mythical concept, forgetting about the history of zombies and the
roles they played in helping the people in economic activities should not be forgotten. The
preceding statement coincides with the very fact that the human race has become zombie slayers,
fighting hard to ensure the complete elimination of zombies by preaching negative publicity
about it.
Despite the fact that the zombies have been vilified by humans in the preceding
paragraphs, their concept has revolutionized the entertainment sector, especially in the film
industry, where they are extensively used to depict specialized characters in horror movies. This
has ensured that the different divergent movie audiences have their choice of video and
characters extensively covered much to their satisfaction. Additionally, the roles played by the
zombies in the movies show specialized characters that are out of existence in the real world,
giving them the ability to visualize and imagine how the world would be if at all such creatures
existed as touted from some quarters of the society. Even though many people talk ill about the
zombies, computer games and mobile application games have incorporated simulated zombie
creatures in those games that enables gamers to view them as an enemy and in the process be
enjoying the games while perceiving the zombies as the target to be killed. The roles played by
zombies in the mobile and computer game application, all depict them as enemies that are played
against. Moreover, the evolution of the concept of zombies has enabled mankind to relate some
of their daily activities to the behavior of the zombies. For example, as currently constituted,
zombies are regarded as creatures that never end, shooting and killing them is a cyclic process
that never comes to an end just like going to work. Going to work is also a cyclic procedure that
never comes to an end so long as life still exists.
Zombies are creatures whose existence has been dated since the early 20th century, but
their roles in the society and conception have been an area of debate with a section of people
claiming surety in their existence while another faction flouting their existence as evidential
materials concerning them is scanty. However, in the current society, zombies are considered as
a source of misery, source of evil, source of bad omen, and they are also considered as human
flesh-eaters, which automatically makes them number one enemy to man. These negative
attributes have made zombies be creatures that are highly detested in society, and their existence
or appearance may lead to unspecified actions taken against them. Therefore, human beings are
totally different from zombies because of their appearance, nature, strength, and ill-fated
thoughts toward other people. More so, the human being has negative opinions towards the
existence of zombies.
