1. Why and how was irrigation developed in Ancient Egypt? How did it impact food
supply?
It was developed in the Thinite era where the state had unified for
irrigation to distribute the agricultural wealth. It impacted food supply
positively as they were no longer waiting for 1 crop of year. It made 2
crops per year possible which feed larger amount of people and prospered
the nation even more.
2. What variety grains, vegetables and fruits did the Egyptians cultivate for
consumption?
Broad beans, chick peas, onions, leeks, lettuce, cucumbers, and of course
bread and beer was the variety of grain and vegetables that was consumed.
3. What were the variety of meats and fish did the Egyptians have access to?
Wildfowl, cows, and oxen, gazelle, and antelope.
4. What two African species did the Egyptians domesticate but not eat? What role
did they play in society?
The ass was used as the beast of burden and the domestic cat that was
worship as a peaceable form.
5. What was the wide range of stones the Egyptians mined and for what uses?
Limestone, Silsila sandstone, Aswan granite, Hatnoub alabaster, Jebel el
Ahmar quartzite, Hammamet, and semi-precious stones Sinai turquoise,
Nubian cornelians and amethusts were used by builders and sculptures.
6. What items did the Egyptians need to import and or what purposes?
They had to import metals and timber for its industrial capacity.

They exported textiles, Egyptian linen, and paper.

They used the Nile river as transportation as well as canals, boats, and the
Red and Mediterranean Sea.

The role was to lead the people through religious and economic unfortune.
The crown was a sole priest, warrior, judge, and delegating their power.
10. What were the lands owned by the Gods and the military?
There were the lands that the gods possessed and were exempt to from
certain taxes. Warriors were given lands as well that were managed
themselves.

Were the small independent farmers that were not working for the king.
12. What role did foreigners play in ancient Egypt?
They were specialist, military settlers, and slaves. They played a role to
serve for the king or small holders.

They were bakers, potters, founders, sculptors, goldsmiths, flowerarrangers, watercarrier, watchmen and many more craftsmanship and
service duties.
14. How the Egyptian civil service organized?
The prince, the Pharaoh, or local chiefs (high officials) supervised all civil
services.
15. What was the political organization of Egypt?
It was a monarchy, the Pharaoh being the top. The pope and other high
official help consult with the king.
16. How were women treated in Ancient Egypt?
They were treated with honor and were able to own land and as 4 women
were rulers in Ancient Egypt.

The prime minister were viziers that were responsible for public order,
above all the supreme legal authority after the Pharaoh and the Minister of
Justice.

The king was responsible for national security which then lead to having
two arms od service the chariots and the infantry, subdivided into large
armies.
19. What was the religious and moral conceptions of the Egyptians?
Myths played a part of their religious and moral conceptions as it was a
way to understand the image of the world and its natural and nurture
phenomena.
20. What was the role of the temples and priests in ancient Egypt?
Their role was to support divine beings and to implement order to avoid
chaos.
21. How was the law implemented in Ancient Egypt?
The law was individualistic with the relation of royal decisions, legal
procedure and penalties.
22. What were the funerary beliefs and practices of the ancient Egyptians?
Their beliefs were concerning life after death. The practices of funerals
were to ensure that the soul will survive in the afterlife so everything that
the Egyptians though the soul needed was buried with the body.
