Diversity refers to the state of acknowledging that every individual is different and unique in their way either through their different genders, age, race, political views, religions, physical abilities, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. It entails understanding and accepting the differences between individuals and embracing the rich dimensions of diversity (Hon and Brunner, 2017). In module 2, I gave a more in-depth explanation of diversity and explained the connection between the four lenses of education and diversity. From the information in module 2, research indicated that the four wide lenses of education had been used in this essay because they apply to the everyday lives of every individual. History, for example, entails the people in the past, events that occurred, their lives, and their experiences of life in general. On the other hand, humanity reflects the various aspects of human beings towards their culture and societies. Natural and applied sciences majors in the physical world and often include physics, chemistry, astronomy, geology, and biology. Applied sciences refer to the process of using the acquired knowledge into practice or solve various problems. Social sciences study human society and the relationship between members of different cultures. All four lenses connect smoothly with diversity because diversity means respecting and accepting every individual despite their differences. In comparison, the four lenses give a deeper understanding of the different cultures and understand and appreciate the differences between different people. DIVERSITY ISSUES 3 From the information stated above about diversity, it is clear that diversity promotes various positive impacts on society and individual people. The following are some of the effects of difference; it helps social coherence and boosts personal growth among individuals; it improves the overall well-being and promotes unity. Natural and Applied Sciences In this essay, we major our focus on analyzing the diversity issue of ethnicity and cultural differences through the lens of natural and applied sciences and social sciences. The Natural and applied sciences study the time of the physical world and then categorizes history stories into the past, present, and future. It explores the physical world and enables us to understand ourselves better and understand our position in nature and the role of life in guiding us. Nturalsciencesare often categorized into various groups, namely physics, biology, and chemistry. Applied sciences, on the other hand, involve STEM-related fields, such as technology and Mathematics. Both fields work together to find answers to questions that people have been yearning to know for several years. Scientists often come up with questions and processes that research about various factors. Through these lenses, scientists can examine multiple events in a particular community, creating a deeper understanding and promoting diversity (Davenport, 2017). Science is one of the primary lenses that can help in promoting diversity. One of the significant ways is by bringing all scientists together when working on a particular project despite race, gender, age, religion, political view, ethnicity, and background. Various scientific projects require research and vital information from different areas. Joining different scientists from different places, including race and scientific beliefs, will lead to the creation of a comprehensive study, reducing ethnicity and cultural differences and promoting diversity. DIVERSITY ISSUES 4 Social sciences Social science generally refers to the study of societies and the relationships that people have with each other. Social sciences are categorized in various fields, such as political science, psychology, geography, economics, sociology, and anthropology. The lens of social sciences sometimes tends to overlap with the humanities lens because they both study human interactions and behaviors in different cultures. Through the study of human relationships, their cultures, and their diverse societies, we understand how human beings live and how their lives can be improved. In this case, social scientists use various techniques, such as observations, interviews, and other secondary and primary sources, to acquire multiple conclusions. The lens of social science also intersects with different lenses in various ways. A significant example is when social scientists use the history lens to view past activities to understand better social relationships and how they occurred. They also use the history lens to know how people interact and how they perform various activities together. It is through studying such cases that we get to understand multiple cultures well. The social science lens enables us to interact well with the people around us and uses artifacts from different cultures to generate better living hence promoting diversity (Davenport, 2017). From this essay, it is clear that social science promotes diversity and prevents various issues such as ethnicity and cultural differences through studying by promoting a better understanding of different societies. The social science lens does this by exploring different communities and cultures and how members of that particular society relate to each other.
