Belhaven University Ch 7 Quality of Healthcare Provision & Bible Discussion Reply - Business Finance
1 AndrewThe book of Amos chapter 7 is a discussion with Amos and the Lord. Amos had a vision of the Lord standing near him with a plumb line. The Lord asked Amos what did he say and he explain a plumb line. Then confirmed with Amos he was correct and reminded him that he will build a plumb line in the mist of his people and he will never pass by them again. Like most people I was unaware of the definition of what a plumb line was. Based on some YouTube searches I learned that a plumb line is a tool or instrument use when building a structure to ensure the stability of the vertical and horizontal framework of the structure. Some can also use a plumb line when laying wallpaper. It can easily be made with the string and a weighted down typically not magnet weights. Current builders use plumb Bobs when building And making wall structures. During the days of Amos plumbline was a vital tool used to ensure the quality of a building. Without a plumbline building original foundations can be unstable which ultimately will lead to the destruction of the building. When building a structure without a solid strong foundation and appropriately measured walls it is only a matter of time for it to crumble down. As a health administrator when developing plans or goals it is vital to make sure that the foundation is solid and Avoid failure. It is important to set up an organization with the proper tools for success. A plumbline was not an internal Tools that were ensure the success of the purpose of the building but it insured the success of the structure of the building. When starting a business organization the building and location is very important to solidify the success of a business. A plumbline is an instrument or an example of the importance of starting the foundation solid with proper measurements. Looking at it in a spiritual standpoint it is important that we use the tools that God set before us To be successful in our relationship with him.2 TinaAccording to the Institute of Medicine, the quality of healthcare is defined as the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge. A successful development for measurement of quality is vulnerable to having a conceptual framework that links the issues raised before the process begins. Thus he shewed me: and, behold the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumb line in his hand (Amos 7:7). The plumb line in this passage represents Gods standard for the children of Israel. It also showed that the people of Israel were not straight in their deeds (actions) when compared to Gods standards. In Healthcare Administration, there are many standards that have to be held. It is imperative that healthcare professionals provide care in their facilities are dependent on those who are professionally inclined to uphold standards not just through words but through their actions as well. In the biblical content, the plumb line was a measuring stick that God utilized to show people who were not following His standards. Healthcare professionals should always hold themselves, as well as subordinates, who serve the residents or patients accountable to the standards given in their professions. Healthcare professionals should always be vocal and ready to make necessary changes for the betterment of the lives of the individuals they serve.3 AndrewI enjoy 2 Timothy chapter 2 Is it informs readers to do our best to show ourselves worthy and approved by God be a worker without shame because we are living in the truth of the word of God. As a healthcare worker I’ve learned that the job is very stressful and very overwhelming. Not only do you feel that stress but our peers and administration reflect the stress. Often times is difficult to follow directions when it’s presented aggressively only because of a reflection of being stressed. Many times the patients are stressed and overwhelmed as they may have received a bad diagnosis. We are human and it is very difficult to refrain from expressing our own frustrations. But this scripture reminds us to do things to show ourselves approved by God and to live in his truth by the word. I remember myself praying before dealing with certain patients because I found myself frustrated and was not working wholeheartedly. Reflecting back on 2 Timothy All healthcare workers can ensure quality care for patients. If we keep in mind that we are doing this to show ourselves approve to God avoiding stress it maybe it will help us exemplify ethical behaviors and quality care. Expressing that quality care is very important as a Christian believer because we are representations of the Lord. The last thing that I would ever want to do is to make his image look bad by my behaviors. Not only in our work atmosphere but in life in general we are charged to reflect back to the scripture. I am kind of surprised that I’ve never read that or I don’t remember reading that but very appreciative of the opportunity to apply it to my life. 4 TinaStudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth, (2 Timothy 2:15). The text of 2 Timothy simply states that if a person is truly dedicated to the cause of the ministry, then it is necessary for them to continuously educate themselves while growing into their craft. The education that is received is imperative when providing care for people. All individuals that provide care to people that are receiving treatment in a healthcare setting should be knowledgeable of their job duties. Monthly training, in-services, or staff development training should all be implemented in order for health care providers in order to stay relevant and to ensure that their patients receive the best quality care. The administration should always be willing to go through this training as well. The healthcare profession is a growing field that requires knowledge, paying attention to detail, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of the individuals that are being served. Therefore, giving the responsibility of being caregivers to these individuals, continuous education in certain areas should be mandatory. The health care profession is constantly growing so health care professions must continue to adapt to modern practices. The more educationally inclined health care professionals are generally correlated with adopting more efficient practices versus adopting practices that are not as efficient in the healthcare profession. Lastly, healthcare providers affect the services provided if the health care provider does not enjoy their job. AvedisDonabedian (1919-2002) stated that You have to love your profession, you have to love your God.
