(iii) Find the ratio of Omani students to Indian students.
(iv) Find the ratio of Irani students to the total number of students.
(v) Find the ratio of Omani students to the total number of students. (5 marks)
b) Income of Iman is RO 10,000 per month and that of Jhina is RO 20,000 per month. Whereas the yearly
savings of Iman and Jhina is RO 60,000 and RO 180,000 respectively. Find the ratio of their expenditure.

a) Syed works in a construction company. He earns RO 8 per hour and worked 45 hours per week. At the
end of 7th month rate per hour increased to RO 10. According to the agreement, he is eligible for
overtime (time-and-a-half pay) based on 38 hours regular work per week. You are required to calculate
annual gross pay of Syed? Assume that 4 weeks in a month. (6 marks)
b) An invoice for RO 65,000 and dated February 20th with the terms 7/13, EOM is received. The bill is paid
on March 2nd. Calculate the amount paid. (2 marks)
c) An invoice of RO 50,000 with the terms 7/18, n/30, ROG is dated on May 10th. The goods are received
on May 15th. The bill is paid on June 1st. Calculate the amount paid. (2 marks)

a) What do you understand by rate of markup on cost and rate of markup on selling price, illustrate with

b) A retailer sells a product whose listed price is RO 45,000 and charges VAT (Value Added Tax) on it at
the prescribed rate of 8 \% from the customer. If the retailer pays a VAT of RO 40 to the government, what
was the price inclusive of tax at which the retailer bought the article from the wholesaler? If the wholesaler
pays a VAT of RO 25 to the government, what was the price inclusive of tax at which the wholesaler
bought the article from the manufacturer? How much does the government received as VAT? (6 marks)
