This is a great way to inform your network how your strengths and aspirations aligh with opportunities.  Make sure your approach and cover letters integrate and reflect your brand message.  Have business cards ready to hand out with your basic information (name, email, phone, tagline). Networking etiquette indicates you should be prepared to give a card if asked or if given one yourself.  Create a professional voicemail message. Even if you think you have wit or great taste in music, recruiters and hiring managers may disagree. Ask people you trust to evaluate your outgoing message.
