This essay seeks to describe how the sociohistorical evaluations are present in the Pentecostal Faith as well as how the sociology of religion paradigm is termed and defined concerning this religious belief. This essay will also provide an analysis of the impacts on the world that is existence by faith while providing an emphasizes as to how the Pentecostal Religion has elements that are like the Christian Worldviews. The faith of the Pentecostal is intriguing and has many elements of beliefs and practices that seek to create a positive change in society. Without such vital formations of the Pentecostal Religion, this faith would not be considered as important as it is today in the modern world (Archer, 2004). When it concerns the sociology of religion paradigm, there are many elements present in this faith such as how the believers define the concepts of faith, the ways that they live, the rituals they practice, and the organization in which is analyzed by the American-born religion concerning the facts of Pentecostalism. Some of the beliefs by Pentecostals of this religious faith include the Bible and how salvation can be achieved via the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as the immersion of baptism. The lifestyles of those who practice this religious faith have become greatly reliant on what is known as the ‘holy spirit’ (Archer, 2007). For this religion, it is important and normal for one to become filled with the holy spirit and to begin talking in tongues as evidence of their faith and beliefs. Some of the ritual practices for Pentecostal’s include praying, participating in communion, and reading the scriptures of the bible to understand and learn about their God. Pentecostals make great efforts towards striving for better lives that are led AMERICAN BORN RELIGION 3 by the word of God and helping the communities that surround them while bringing salvation to clear other’s souls of sins (Ross, 2001). Those of the Pentecostal faith have made tremendous impacts on the society that has greatly reflected the worldview of Christians. Many factors have played a part in concerns implementing programs in communities that help decrease poverty levels, helping communities develop economically, and helping to improve the healthcare system (Showalter, 2019). Although these are important elements of the Pentecostal faith in giving back to their community, they also play major roles in advocating for equality among women and men to increase, given that the Pentecostals are known for ordaining women as pastors in their religious institutions. Given such factors of how this faith has given back to society in a positive way, there are also reflections of a Christian worldview that is apparent (Vondey & Green, 2010). The Christian Worldview that is apparent in the Pentecostal faith concerns the use of the same Bible, many values and beliefs are relevant to the current worldview of the Christians, as well as key aspects such as rituals and practices that align with those of the Christian religion. Both Christians and Pentecostal emphasize their strong beliefs in the Holy Spirit, and both have similar methods of bringing the Holy Spirit into their lives of worship (Anderson, 2004).
