The customer has three options: buy a furniture in stock, order (through us) from the furniture manufacturer, or get a furniture transferred from another store (e.g., when the customer wants a furniture similar to one in stock but in blue instead of in black). Customers can browse our online categories for orderings and purchases. The categories of furniture include: Dining Room, Living Room, Bedroom Office, Outdoor and Kids furniture. The web site is also used for advertising new products, promotion sales, new services, and category menu for search different types of furniture. We record our loyal customers in our database to offer discounts for their furniture purchases. We have “weekly specials” where some furniture are offered with discount in the store. Customers receive newsletters by emails monthly for the new events and promotions. One senior staff is to maintain the inventory of furniture for whole business. The staff also records the current and new arrivals of future. The prices the furniture need to be decided based on the quality, materials and styles. The salespeople work on a small salary, but most of their income is from the commission that they earn by selling furniture. There is an incentive program that awards salespeople by higher commission percentages as they sell more. We like to keep track of our salespeople’s performance and we choose a “salesperson of the year” who receives a bonus. We also have contract with a delivery company for carrying furniture to our customers with a fixed fee.
