Actions must be taken by an organization’s risk manager and key leaders when vulnerabilities are identified.   If an organization is located in an undesirable area and known threats exist, what might a healthcare facility safety officer do immediately and propose to a safety committee for a longer term solution? 2). A regular review of the environmental and safety management plan ensures that the organization achieves the lowest potential for adverse impact on the safety and health of patients, staff, and visitors. If particular work areas continue to have trouble complying with policy, and identified risks keep appearing on incident reports, etc., what might the leadership approach be to address the negative impact of this lack of compliance? Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below. 1) It is important for healthcare facilities to provide a safe environment for their employees, organizations risk managers help reduce risk and asset matters to ensure the safety of the workplace.  To make an impact healthcare facility safety officers can do immediately in the situation that the organization is located in an undesirable area and knowing that there are threats, evaluate the proposed issue surrounding it.  Risk management as mentioned is typically a hybrid function bridging a number of disciplines to reduce the incidence of organizational loss.  Utilizing risk management will help attempt to prevent or mitigate a loss and create damage control.  In this situation using risk management will allow the organization to determine and be prepared for any issues that may arise.     The Role of Risk Management in Healthcare Operations. Retrieved from http://www.psfinc.com/press/the-role-of-risk-management-in-healthcare-operations 2) A managers leadership style consists of the traits and behaviors he displays when leading and managing employees. Managers with a coercive leadership style exert tight control over employees and rely on the threat of negative consequences to ensure compliance. This style of management can be successful in crisis situations. However, coercive leadership is not effective in the long term because it can create a negative atmosphere by demotivating capable employees and damaging morale (Billie, 2020). An affiliative style emphasizes harmonious interactions and can be useful if a manager needs to encourage a group to work together or heal rifts in a dysfunctional team. However, it is not effective if a manager needs to deal with inadequate performance or crisis situations that require clear direction and control. Managers who lead by example have a pacesetting style, which can work well when an organization has to adapt and move quickly(Billie, 2020). Pacesetters set high standards and are apprehensive about delegating. A pacesetter can overwhelm his team with demands for unachievable excellence, resulting in a drop in morale. Developing a comprehensive and effective corporate compliance program is not an easy process, nor is it a process that is ever fully completed. Gaining meaningful and visible buy-in from leadership is critical to the success of your compliance efforts. But this involves more than leaders supporting policies and procedures. Leaders must model a workplace culture of corporate ethics and compliance. leadership modeling of corporate ethics and values is a challenge for many organizations. According to a recent survey from EVERFI and the HR Research Institute, only 50\% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their leaders uphold the stated values of their organization. In order to build a culture of compliance, your leaders must prove that they are held to the same high standards that they hold their employees to (Billie, 2020). For Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, there are several things that happen when there is a lack of compliance. The first thing is that if someone finds you out of compliance the administrator or manager will complete what we call an RL6 form. These forms are completed to ensure two things, that HR is informed about where the compliance is not working and the second is to ensure that our risk management/ corporate compliance office is able to follow up on the situation. Upon completing the RL6, the corporate compliance officer reaches out and finds out how this can be changed and where there needs to be changed to the policies. Annually every staff member has to complete a mandatory corporate compliance course to ensure that they are aware of the new policies and how they affect the department that the employee belongs to.    Reference: Billie, E. Discussion 2 1) Please share with us any stressors you experienced in writing your capstone assignment.  For example, did procrastination set in, family obligations, etc?  What did you do to manage the stress and move forward? 2) What previous experiences in life prepared you to have the discipline to complete the MBA program?  What part of the MBA program do you feel will be fruitful for you in years to come, i.e., Lifelong Learning? Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below. 1). Out of all the MBA courses I took in this program, I experienced the most adversity this session. In a matter of a month, my husband and I were both working on our MBA, working full-time, and interviewing for new jobs. At the time we had hopes of moving from Nevada, but wasnt sold on where to move to. Therefore, we applied to three different states of interest. From those applications came many interviews (which we are grateful for) and any time we had to relax was gone. The last two-weeks of the month we both obtained new jobs, packed our house, worked two jobs each simultaneously, moved to a different state, and maintained our MBA status. Bottom line, I have never been more physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. Stress was more relevant to my life than, then ever before. However, with support from family, friends, professors, and bosses, I can say my husband and I have settled down.  I think stress management really is unique for each person, as we all operate differently. For me personally, being organized and planning helped me with said stress. By breaking down one big goal moving into small objectives find new place, change utilities, downsize items it allows one to feel less overwhelmed. By taking it day by day and one task at a time, people can accomplish amazing things. I hope the combination of my rant and helpful tips can provide someone help, inspiration, or simply a chuckle. Best, 2) I think there are two previous experiences that help prepare me to have the discipline to complete the online MBA Program. Firstly, for the past eleven years I have work remotely for my employer.  This requires me to be very disciplined with my schedule.  Also, many moons ago I was very interested in the Actuarial field of mathematics.  I used to study independently for exams.  This required many hours of studying and many sacrifices (I missed family functions, friend gatherings, etc. as I would need to studying intensely for the exams.) Working from home for eleven years and studying for actuarial exams both help me develop my discipline to complete the online MBA Program. Upon completion of the MBA program, I find myself more likely to ask questions and seek out information.  I really enjoyed each and every Case and Signature assignment that I completed.  When I reflect back at my very first Case and Signature assignment, I recall vividly how overwhelmed I was.  I felt like a lost deer in head lights.  I had graduated from my undergraduate coursework 20 years prior to taking this MBA course, so I was very rusty when it came to researching and writing.  Now, as I reach the end of my MBA Program, I can say that the writing/research process is something that I very much look forward to, and will miss.  I know in my heart that this MBA program has improved my ability to seek and find information.  That will stick with me for the rest of my professional and personal path.   Congratulations to everyone as we are all reaching the finish line together.  Well done.  I will miss seeing your names and collaborating with each and every one of you.  Best wishes to all.
