Sugar Industry
Interview Script
Continue with the industry you selected in Unit II for this assignment. For this Unit VII Assignment, write a script for a radio/television show as if you were interviewing an expert concerning topics discussed in this unit.
Include input from both the interviewer and interviewee standpoint. What questions would you ask as the interviewer? What answers would you give to those questions as the interviewee? When writing your questions and answers, keep in mind that you have already learned a lot about your industry through earlier assignments in this course. It is suggested that you review your responses to those assignments before beginning this one.
In your interview script, address the following topics:
· the structure of the Federal Reserve,
· the functions of money,
· six qualities of ideal money,
· the tools of monetary policy used by the Federal Reserve to manipulate the money supply in the United States,
· the current status of monetary policy regarding a contractionary or expansionary stance in the United States, and
· the potential impacts on your selected industry over the next 2 years of this monetary policy stance.
Your script must be a minimum of four pages (1,000 words, double-spaced). Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
Dissimilarities between a Movement and Shift along Demand and Supply Curves
A shift in demand is a situation where the price of a commodity remains the same but consumers buy more of the commodity. A swing in the curve of demand represents an adjustment in the quantity of consumers’ demand at a particular market value. This is characterized by a shift in the original curve representing demand to a new location. Movement on a demand curve represents a variation in the quantity of the commodity demanded in the market due to changes in the price of commodities. On the other hand, when the price of a commodity remains invariant as other factors affecting supply change, there will be a change in the supply of the commodity. This represents movement on a supply graph. A shift in the supply curve is when the supply graph swings to the right or the left due to a change in the price of the commodity (Guiso et al, 2017).
What Can Cause the Above Situation? Provide an Example For Each.
One of the causes of variation along a graph of demand is a price increase. If the price of the commodities in the market, commodities become unavoidable. For instance, if the price of sugar goes up, demand for the same decreases, hence the demand curve moves to the left. A shift is when other factors other than price control demand. For instance, in the case of substitutes of sugar in the market, demand for sugar will go down. This will shift the demand curve to the left. Supply curves move due to price variations. If the price of selling a bag of rice goes up, a lot will be available in the market, making the supply curve move to the left. If substitutes of rice are available, less will be required in the market, shifting the supply curve to the left (Balleer et al., 2020).
Describe How Equilibrium is found
In demand and supply, equilibrium is a state when demand and supply of commodities in the market balance each other. This leads to stability in the market price of commodities. This happens when the quantity of goods demanded is equal to the number of goods supplied in the market. This state can be achieved by controlling and regulating the prices of commodities and services in the market. This being one of the key factors affecting demand and supply, if well-controlled, it can lead to an equilibrium of demand and supply. Second, the introduction of substitutes can also aid in achieving equilibrium in demand and supply (Wang et al., 2019).
How a Shift of Demand or Supply Curve Can Affect Equilibrium
A swing in either demand or supply graph is a change in demand or supply due to any other factor other than price. For instance, if the price of a commodity remains the same and consumers want to buy more of the same commodity, there will be a shortage of the same commodity in the market. Suppliers may not be willing to supply the commodity at the market price but consumers want to buy more. In this case, the demand and supply of such a commodity may not march. This leads to disequilibrium of demand and supply graphs. The demand graph will be above the supply graph (Wilkies et al., 2021).
Define the current status of demand and supply for sugar in the industry
An example of an industry in the US is Tereos SA. This industry produces sugar in small and large quantities in Texas. Sugar is a basic commodity, its demand is increasing every day. This means that supply should also increase. One of the factors affecting the supply of sugar is its demand. Basic operations in the US make use of sugar. This means that there must be a steady supply of sugar. One of the reasons that have made the supply curve shift is population increase. This implies that large quantities of sugar must be produced to meet the market demands. Tastes and preferences, on the other hand, have made the demand for sugar to more up, hence shifting the demand curve to the right (Brǎtulescu, & Creţu, 2018).

· What can cause the above situations? Provide an example for each.
· Describe how equilibrium is found.
· Describe how a shift of the demand or supply curve can affect equilibrium.
Now, select an industry with which you are familiar or one you would like to study. This industry will also be used in future assignments for this course.
After selecting your industry, identify a product or service that your chosen industry produces. Add the following information.
· Define the current status of supply and demand for the product or service you identified.
· Identify at least one factor that has caused the supply curve to shift for that product or service.
· Identify at least one factor that has caused the demand curve to shift for that product or service.
Your essay must be a minimum of two pages, not counting the reference page. Be sure to include an introduction.
