NURS-6003 wk11 assignment - Nursing
Assignment: Academic Success and Professional Development Plan Part 6: Finalizing the Plan At some point in every construction project, efforts turn from design and the focus moves to actual construction. With the vision in place and the tools secured, the blueprint can be finalized and approved. Then it is time to put on hardhats and begin work. Throughout the course you have developed aspects of your Academic and Professional Development Plan. You have thought a great deal about your vision and goals, your academic and professional network of support, research strategies and other tools you will need, the integrity of your work, and the value of consulting the work of others. With your portfolio in place, it is now time to finalize your blueprint for success. Much as builders remain cognizant of the building standards as they plan and begin construction, nurses must remain mindful of the formal standards of practice that govern their specialties. A good understanding of these standards can help ensure that your success plan includes any steps necessary to excel within your chosen specialty. In this Assignment you will continue developing your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan by developing the final component–a review of your specialty standards of practice. You will also submit your final version of the document, including Parts 1–5.   The Assignment: Complete the following items and incorporate them into the final version of your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan. With the resources specific to the MSN specialization and the, Walden University. (n.d.). Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), shared in this module, write a paragraph or make a Nursing Specialty Comparison table, comparing at least two nursing specialties that include your selected specialization and second-preferred specialization. Write a 2- to 3-paragraph justification statement identifying your reasons for choosing your MSN specialization. Incorporate feedback you received from colleagues in this Module’s Discussion forum. Identify the professional organization related to your chosen specialization for this Assignment, and explain how you can become an active member of this organization. Note: Your final version of the Academic Success and Professional Development Plan should include all components as presented the Academic Success and Professional Development Plan template. Week 1 |Part 1: My Academic and Professional Network I have identified and secured the participation of the following academic (at least two) and professional (at least two) individuals and/or teams to form the basis of my network. This network will help me to clarify my vision for success and will help guide me now and in the future. Directions: Complete the information below for each member of your network. For morethan four entries repeat the items below with details of your additional network member(s) in the ‘ADDITIONAL NETWORK MEMBERS’ section. Introduction. The world is ever-growing in terms of technological advancement. This aspect requires as new leaders and professionals are being prepared in various learning institutions. They need to understand the importance of professional networking as one of the essential tools in developing and improving their careers. It must be known that since time immemorial, it must be understood that academic networking has been of great value and served as the primary platform that allows one to relate to other experts and professionals to develop a body of contacts (Robinson, 2017). This aspect not only improves and facilitates skills and knowledge sharing among various experts and professionals but also demonstrates ones ability to form a network of academic and practitioner contact that otherwise could boost employment prospects. Perhaps via academic networking alongside a professional development plan, one is able to clearly identify and possibly determine a roadmap that is composed of skills, strategy, and education needed to improve and further oneself career as well as life to achieve set professional goals. Some of these professional development aspects that play a critical role in ones life include conidiation of education, actively participating in professional organizations, research work, improving job performance, skill-based training, among many other areas of professional development (Janssen et al., 2020). Based on the question, In this discussion paper, I will identify and provide at least two academic and at least two professional individuals or teams to collaborate with in order to be successful in the MSN program and as a practicing nursing. Additionally, I will also provide an extensive explanation of why I had to identify the said individuals or teams alongside the kind of support they will offer towards my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse. With reference to the question, I have identified and secure the participation of the following (at least two) teams/ professional individuals and academics to collaborate within the MSN program. These network members will include; Academic teams i. IT department. ii. Library department. iii. And also, the legal department. Professional individuals/teams. i. Management. ii. Doctors and other clinicians involved in the entire process of diagnosis and treatment workflow. iii. Pharmacy. i. IT department. Reasons for selecting this academic team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: As a practicing nurse, I selected the IT department as my academic team because I know that as with a well-designed information system and alongside adequate knowledge about will facilitate my success as a practicing nurse. The essence of information technology in nursing practice is not only to streamline various processes but also to provide easy and faster ways of sharing critical medical information, particularly daily updates on the current technologies that aid better workflow in the medical field (Janssen et al., 2020). Perhaps this academic team will be a booster to my profession and will help me succeed in my MSN program, and as a practicing nurse, as it will facilitate easy information flow that is needed for effective and efficient documentation processing of various details regarding treatment, patients care and provision of multiple services that are vital to the patients. As a practicing nurse, I will play an essential role in upholding the highest levels of professional standards of ensuring patients safety (Janssen et al., 2020). With the collaboration with the IT department, it will be easy for me to provide quality services, a better nursing environment, and perhaps ensure that there is the electronic documentation of patient’s medical information which altogether will create a positive impact on the patient’s perception about healthcare services provided to them. In a nutshell, the IT department will provide me with the opportunity also to learn more about effective and efficient ways of deploying various technologies in the nursing field as well as the provision of healthcare services in general. Since the IT department provides all the required resources that are informative based alongside long-term solution to current and future challenges, I believe that as a practicing nurse and having selected this academic team, I will be able to get adequate exposure to such solutions, acquire basic knowledge about the use of technology and IT in offering amicable solutions whenever the critical need arises (Elsous, Radwan, & Mohsen, 2017). ii. Library department. Reasons for selecting this academic team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse Library serves as the richest source of knowledge where many people from various professional levels seek to get their thirst over research and enrichment if n their knowledge is quenched. Getting connected with the library department will help me as a practicing nurse will help me achieve my goals and success at large because the library will provide an opportunity that will promote health literacy that will help me as a nurse apply various skills in combating emerging healthcare issues. It is good to note that the nursing field is one of the careers that require constant refreshment and updates about the ever-changing healthcare challenges and the emergence of new diseases that require adequate research and new approaches to control. Therefore, having selected the library department as the academic team to collaborate with will allow me to continue improving my skills and ionize healthcare literacy that will boost my success in the MSN program (Elsous, Radwan, & Mohsen, & Mohsen, 2017). Additionally, I believe that by selecting the library department, It will be easy for me to access vast resources and knowledge that is available within the facility, which will guide me and help me focus on the MSN program and in so doing know will improve my academic experience a factor that will help me achieve my goals and success altogether (Brettle, Maden, & Payne, 2016). iii. Legal department. Reasons for selecting this academic team and supporting my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse. As a practicing nurse will choose to get connected and collaborate with the legal department as it is the most sensitive area in my professional as a nurse due to the existence of legal issues associated with nursing practice. There is a great need to understand all the legal requirements as a nurse and perhaps get exposed to some of the malpractices that need to be discarded and avoided at all costs in the nursing field. Collaboration with the legal department will help me know what is legal and what is not legal when it comes to nursing practice and healthcare services (Brettle, Maden, & Payne, 2016). This knowledge will help me adhere to the medical and nursing standards as provided in legal department guidelines. Professional individuals or teams. i. Management. Reasons for selecting this professional individual or team and supporting my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse. I chose to collaborate with management since I understand that as a practicing nurse, it is quite essential to get adequate exposure to management skills which not only improve and ensure effective utilization of healthcare resources but also crucial in facilitating an efficient workflow system in the healthcare system. Management skills will help me as a practicing nurse to identify and determine various challenges and issues affecting the effective provision of patient-centered care services, an aspect that will offer the opportunity to initiate necessary changes and implementation of nursing policy that will ensure the successful provision of patient-centered services. ii. Pharmacy. Getting connected with a pharmacy will help me get adequate exposure to learning about many different types of drugs and the regulations of the use of certain drugs under a specific circumstance, acquire knowledge about features of various medications, side effects, and combinations of drugs that may be used alternatively (Amer, 2019). This department will also allow me to learn more about newly introduced medicine and other development in pharmacology. iii. Doctors and other clinicians. I will collaborate with clinicians and doctors since these are resourceful professionals with enough experience in nursing practice. I will benefit from such people by gaining more insights on how the nursing profession needs to be applied for project goals to be realized. This will help me develop confidence and seek help whenever in need so as to solve problems associated with nursing and the provision of healthcare services (Amer, 2019). References Amer, A. B. Directions: In the space below Identify and describe at least three academic resources or strategies that can be applied to the MSN program, and at least threeprofessional resources that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or your specialty in particular. For each, explain how you intend to use these resources, and how they might benefit you academically and professionally. Introduction A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is a critical course that equips nurses with advanced expertise in providing care. It is a critical course that requires a nurse to acquire knowledge from various academic resources to acquire an advance and broad view of the nursing field(Fowler, Conner & Smith, 2018). The course prepares a healthcare worker with knowledge in nursing leadership, management, and administration. It also equips nurses with additional skills in nursing such as research and development to ensure the nurses are competent in providing evidence-based medication. Financial analysis and the analysis of medical data through technology such as cloud computing and Electronic Health Record (EHR). For this reason, nurses undertaking (MSN) should be aggressive and proactive in utilizing every academic resource in acquiring the necessary knowledge. Academic resources/ strategy First The first strategy is the utilization of the community library; the community library is one of the most effective places to acquire or form of resources needs for the MSN program. One must be a book enthusiast for one to perform well in the MSN. I will utilize the library after the normal classes from the university. I will acquire scholarly nourishments from various resources such as newspapers, magazines, books, and journals from scholars who are experts in the field of nursing. Although books are the most reliable and credible sources of information other resources such as newspapers and magazines are also most critical in acquiring the most current and trending information affecting the nurses. For instance, preventive measures about the current pandemic COVID-19 are mostly found in magazines and the newspaper and rarely one can find the information from books. I intend to use the resource y utilizing the private rooms which provide a peaceful studying environment. Being an MSN student I will spend a lot of time doing researches that will enhance my knowledge on providing evidence-based care. Second The second academic resource will be the internet: Utilization of the internet is the most advanced and vast academic resource that is current used by almost every student. Currently, in the university, the nursing departments have to create portals where students can access academic materials. The internet is also used as a platform to acquire, submit and receive the examination result. The internet has been facilitating online classes where the students do not need to be in the school physically. Due to advancements in technology, educators are integrating technology in education processes. Additionally, the internet provides platforms where reliable and credible academic resources are store. For in the case of the Google Scholar database, students can access researches that are credible and reliable in academic. I intend to use the internet by holding online discussions with other students in other parts of the world(Rosen &Frueh, 2007). Through online discussion, we shall be able to share lecture notes and past examination papers from various universities. I will also use the internet by visiting the Google Scholar database and obtain knowledge from other scholars. Third The other academic resource I will use is the online academic tutor: Most of the universities currently and particularly in my university use online academic tutors to assist the students. Online academic tutors in nursing are experts who are qualified to answer and handle any challenge facing nursing students. The main responsibilities of an online academic tutor are to assist students with clarification of the assignment, assisting students to register their classes, general course guidance, and online class schedule. Although the interaction with the tutor is not face-to-face they are essential since students can be able to get clarifications and answers to questions relating to MSN. I intend to utilize an online academic tutor by engaging the tutor early in the morning before they are engaged by other students. I will also engage the tutor to enhance the communication skills that will enable me to enhance communications in classes and job shifts. I intend to create effective communications with the tutor to eradicate communication breakdowns that may negatively affect my academic progress. Professional resource/strategy First American Nurses Association (ANA): The ANA is an association in the United States that facilitates the care interest for both the patients and nurses. The association was established to foster quality care for all citizens in the United States(De Castro, 2004). The main responsibility of the association is to foster high standards in nursing practice. The association is also effective in ensuring nurses are adhering to an acceptable code of conduct. The welfare of nurses is also monitored and governed through the association. The ANA was also established to formulate policies that are effective in initiating the major reforms in the healthcare sector. I intend to the resources in the association by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences across the globe. I will also ensure I enroll in courses that will enhance my knowledge of how the association works and facilitate care delivery. Participating in meetings organized by the association will enable to the utilization of extra nursing resources and tools. Second International Council of Nurses ICN: The ICN was established in 1899 by a group of professional healthcare and is headquartered in Geneva(Hutton, Veenema&Gebbie, 2016). ICN usually advocates for high training that enables the nurses to be competitive and aggressive in establishing policies that enhance care delivery. The ICN also provides a platform where healthcare can advance their training and knowledge thus making them more satisfied in the nursing field. As an MSN I intend to register for ICN that will enable me to be invited for global activities and meetings based on its culture, values, and principles. The ICN focuses on motivating and supporting MSN nurses by introducing them to diverse practices that enable nurses to cope with global challenges facing the healthcare system. ICN is made up of nurses from across the globe; the recent statistics show that it is made by one-hundred and thirty countries. Therefore, being a member of ICN will enable me to acquire knowledge on various healthcare systems across the globe thus enabling me to deliver services based on evidence-based information. Third Workplace Mentor: Mentorship is also an important process to advance as an MSN professional. The best way to master the healthcare concepts is through learning by watching through the mentors. Some nurses have long experiences and are willing to teach newly employed nurses. Some of the theories taught in the nursing schools are well understood through practice in the real hospital setting. The mentor will guide me on how to solve a crisis in the organization between nurses and also between nurses and employees. I intend to approach one of the senior nurses who are among the most psych nurse. Through the mentor, I will be able to acquire clarity whenever I have a question concerning the field. I will work very hard even to be better than my mentor so that in the future I will be able to mentor other young nurses. References De Castro, A. B. (2004). Week 3 | Part 3: Strategies to Promote Academic Integrity and Professional Ethics I have analyzed the relationship between academic integrity and writing, as well as the relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics. I have also identified strategies I intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of my academic work while a student of the MSN program, as well as my professional work as a nurse throughout my career. The results of these efforts are shared below. Directions: In the space below craft your analysis/writing sample, including Part 1 (The Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity) and Part 2(Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work). SECTION 1: ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY Academic integrity and writing Writing in nursing involves all the reports or assignments given by the nursing educators to student-nurses and submitted either in hard copies in person or through the softcopy electronically through academic platforms(Stoesz&Yudintseva, 2018). Nurses, particularly under the Masters of Science in Nursing MSN, are required to write for them to qualify as MSN practitioners.Writing involves simple to complex assignments such as short assignments that can be individualized or as a group assignment, research paper, and complex papers such as dissertations. Most academic writing involving the MSN program involves reviewing previous from other academicians in various articles on the internet. The integrity is connected to writing since the students in nursing are not supposed to copy previous works from other researchers. Copying previous work from other people and indicating it is yours is academic dishonesty and is referred to as plagiarism(Nagaraju, 2018). The students of higher learning, particularly in the MSN program, must support their original work that is not copied from other scholars. Thus students are supposed to present their original work. Since most of the research involves reading other peoples work, the students of higher learning are supposed to quote or paraphrase the work and attribute the writing to their original owners through references and in-text citation. Students in higher learning institutions are supposed to avoid academic dishonesty by reading the previous work from scholars and use the same idea to write their papers without copying. MSN students in nursing after graduating play a critical in the nursing field by becoming psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNP. Professional practice and scholarly ethics Professional practice involve strict adherence to the code of conduct and professionalism. Nurses are supposed to be aggressive in collaborating with others healthcare workers to ensure the quality delivery of services to patients. Nurses are also required to manage complex situations and crises based on the knowledge they acquired in nursing school. On the other hand, a nurse must adhere to veracity, autonomy, fidelity, accountability, nonmaleficence, beneficence, and justice principles that guide the healthcare professional(Ingham-Broomfield, 2017). Based on the relationship between professional practice and scholarly ethics, nurses with academic dishonesty cases will transfer the same habit to the actual health setting. Nurse with cases of academic dishonesty is not competent. Most of the time, they cannot master the critical concepts applicable in the actual nursing practice. Since such people are not comfortable asking for clarification from other nurses to not expose their incompetence, they provide questionable service by providing wrong prescriptions to patients. Nurses with cases of academic dishonesty may not be competent in providing culture-based care since they might not have adequately mustered the courses from the nursing school (Bultas, Schmuke, Davis & Palmer, 2017). Therefore, they might be healthcare professionals who encourage racial discrimination among the patients and other nurses. Since such healthcare workers do not believe in incompetence to acquire achievements, they might use bribery to be promoted in their jobs. SECTION 2: STRATEGIES FOR MAINTAINING INTEGRITY Academic work Due to advancements in technology, I will use most of the technological tools to check my academic papers integrity before submitting them for marking. The main tools that I will use include the use of Turnitin and Safe Assign. To maintain high academic integrity in academic as an MSN student, I will be required to use the paraphrasing technique when using ideas from previous research work. Paraphrasing is the act of using someones idea and putting the ideas into one own idea. I will use the paraphrasing technique and cite the work appropriately. I will ensure I am not using the exact words from the previous work done by other scholars. To ensure high integrity, I will subject my assignment to the Turnitin tool to note where there is similarity and make the necessary adjustments before submitting my assignment to the concerned professor or the lecturer. Safe Assign tool effectively identifies similarities between the work to be submitted and other previously submitted work by other students. I will use the tool to check whether there is any similarity between my paper and other students. In case of any similarity, I will ensure I make necessary adjustments before submitting my work. The strategy will enhance my academic integrity through professional ethics. I will be able to improve my competence by acquiring nursing knowledge when paraphrasing the work from other scholars. The strategy will enable me to maintain a clean record of academic integrity since I will plagiarize work from my professors at no given time. The strategy of paraphrasing my academic paper will enable me to acquire more knowledge in nursing since I will be acquiring major concepts by internalizing the main ideas before putting them on the paper using my own words. Additionally, in terms of performance, I will attain high academic grades since I will always submit my papers with the ranges of acceptable similarity set by the nursing school. Professional work Nursing, unlike other professionals, requires high integrity because a healthcare worker is dealing with peoples life where some are critically ill, and any case of dishonesty can cost the life of a patient. Integrity in nursing is the quality of having moral uprightness or strong adherence to moral principles that guide the nursing profession. There is various strategy intend to use to enhance my integrity in the workplace. First, I will ensure that I use the emerging technologies to offer patients evidence-based services. First, I will use Electronic Health Records(EHR) and cloud computing technology to gather, analyze, store, and retrieve evidence-based history before offering any service to the patients. The information of the technological tools will minimize the cases of medical errors and duplicate medications to patients. Secondly, I intend to identify a role model in the nursing workplace and consult him/ her in case of a challenge during the care provision. I will consider elderly nurses who have been in the profession for a long period. I also familiarize myself with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability of 1996 act (HIPAA) to ensure the safety of patients from theft and hacking by black hat hackers(Cohen &Mello, 2018). Thus, I will enroll in additional technological courses that will enhance my skills in protecting the integrity data shared from one healthcare worker to the other electronically. Additionally, I intend to attend various workshops and seminars to acquire additional knowledge on the state nursing practice act. Through the knowledge of the act, I will adhere to and respect standards of practice, nursing code of ethics, and prescription authority rules and regulations. For instance, I will not refill or prescribe medications to suspicious patients if I doubt they need them. The honesty will enable me to avoid the opioid crisis, major medical errors, and clinical lawsuits. References Bultas, M. W., Schmuke, A. D., Davis, R. L., & Palmer, J. L. (2017). Week 4 | Part 4: Research Analysis I have identified one topic of interest for further study. I have researched and identified one peer-reviewed research article focused on this topic and have analyzed this article. The results of these efforts are shared below. Directions: Complete Step 1 by using the table and subsequent space below identify and analyze the research article you have selected. Complete Step 2 by summarizing in 2-3 paragraphs the results of your analysis using the space identified. Step 1: Research Analysis Topic of interest Organization Health Literacy Research Article: Include full citation in APA format, as well as link or search details (such as DOI) Farmanova, E., Bonneville, L., & Bouchard, L. (2018). Organizational health literacy: a review of theories, frameworks, guides, and implementation issues. INQUIRY: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing, 55, 0046958018757848. https://doi.org/10.1177/0046958018757848 Professional Practice Use: One or more professional practice uses the theories/concepts presented in the article. The articles authors utilize Rawlss theory of justice to enhance health literacy and cultural competence in the healthcare system. The theory also ensures that the healthcare facilities are distributed equally among the healthcare personnel to increase fairness and reduce disparity among the patients and nurses. Fairness and justice in the healthcare facility are paramount and enable the key stakeholders to make a rational decision. The other theory suggested in the article is Kurt Lewin’s theory(Duch, 2017). The theory enables the healthcare personnel to prevent barriers to care delivery to patients, particularly by enhancing effective communication and incorporating all the key stakeholders during critical decision-making. Due to advancements in technology, the theory effectively ensures information concerning care delivery is retrieved on-demand and used to promote patients health. Research Analysis Matrix Add more rows if necessary Strength of the research Limitation of the research Relevancy to the topic of interest notes The articles main strength is that it used qualitative data analysis and thus never used mathematics and statistics to analyze the finding. Nurses and patients with less knowledge in mathematics and statistics can still understand and apply the analysis of the article. However, the research could have used mixed method or research which involves qualitative and quantitative approach since could have brought a better insight. Effective analysis of the research question is critical when research a healthcare matter. For instance, mixed methods of research could have incorporated techniques such as face-to-face communication with the nurses from a different organization on the perception of organization literacy. Mixed research is the best method since it combines the best quality of qualitative and quantitative methods (Hammersley, 2017). The other strength of the article is that it extracted information from credible sources approved by many healthcare organizations across the globe. Such sources included PubMed, Healthstar (Ovid), Embase (Ovid), and Medline. The article failed to provide a rough budget for implementing literacy in a healthcare organization. Studies involving the welfare of people should be based on evidence-based information from articles posted in databases after the experts reviews. The research effectively provided data, but organizations lack the idea of resources that need to be set aside for its implementations. Peer-reviewed articles were used to extract relevant information. The author used forty-eight eligible articles, and fifteen of them were also considered in the review of the search strategy. The evidence of the effectiveness of the study is limited throughout the article. Small sample size. Based on the research question, the authors were supposed to use more articles before concluding. A large sample size provides more evidence on the research question. No healthcare facility or country was restricted during the research. The author did not specify the sources of data used from other peer-reviewed articles. Enable the reader to know which are in the study applicable in the healthcare system. Sources of data determine whether the authors bias-oriented in the geographical aspects. The study was able to integrate the main research question into groups for a more straightforward analysis. The first study was to develop the concept of theories and their applicability in the healthcare sector(Farmanova, Bonneville & Bouchard, 2018). The second study aimed at providing the platform to transit from ordinary healthcare organizations to health-literate healthcare organizations. The Third study involved the application of healthcare literacy to improve care delivery. The last study involved measurement of Organizational Health Literacy (OHL), Limited information on the barriers to the effectiveness of the study More information on the barrier could have provided the reader with the knowledge to connect the research question and data to determine its credibility. Integration of the main topic into many sub-divisions provides a depth analysis. The other strength is that the article suggested multiple theories to enhance the relationship among employees. There was nobody incorporated to monitor the credibility of the article, which is critical for healthcare research. Investigative bodies are critical since they could have evaluated the application of the theories in the study. The body of experts from APRNs should have been incorporated to verify the study. The research question was answered through a conclusion provided at the end of the study. The study did not invite researchers for further studies in the future. Nursing is ever-changing due to cultural diversity and advancement in technology, and further researches on the same topic are critical for improving the healthcare system. Future researchers should stick to their topic of investigation just like Farmanova, Bonneville, and Bouchard. The article did not provide a recommendation on the alternative methods enhancing Organization Healthcare literacy. The research did not outline the limitation and weaknesses of their study. The authors could have provided the limitation of the study to allow future researchers to eliminate the barrier during their further investigation on the same topic in the future. The others could have provided a statement of limitation. The authors were able to declare the conflict of interest as a guarantee that the study was biased-free. Many keywords could lead to confusion; the article used ten keywords. The nursing research should have specific and relatively limited keywords in numbers to filter and get the most relevant article. Improves credibility and reliability Step 2: Summary of Analysis Although the article has various weaknesses, it has more positive aspects that will make me recommend it to key stakeholders in the healthcare personnel. The three authors Farmanova, Bonneville, and Bouchard, were able to do robust research based on two main rationales. First, they were aggressive in sticking to their research question on the importance of enhancing healthcare literacy in the organization. Healthcare literacy based on the finding; improve collaboration among the healthcare personnel by supporting effective communication during decision making. Healthcare literacy enables the senior management to understand the importance of incorporating the junior employees during critical decision-making. The question provided some additional knowledge both to the patient and the nurses, proving beyond doubt that the research articles followed the existing literature from reliable and credible sources; thus, it was non-trivial. The second reason I will recommend the article to other people to read the article is the aspect of the research method. The method justifies the suitability and the reliability of the question. The authors were able to sub-divide the questions into small researchable sections, making it possible to deal with the question in-depth. Various researches under the main research question provided more data making the study more credible and reliable. My approach to identifying and analyzing the peer-reviewed research involved critical processes such as identifying the research question and topic. It also involved understanding the main methods to use to make amicable solutions, meaning-making, and effective transmission of the insights from the research to a consolidated finding. The authors selected keywords relevant to the research question, such as patient-centered care, quality improvement, organizations, and health literacy. Forty-eight articles were selected based on their relevance in the research question, and all the research topics were found from the journal since they are more reliable and credible. In my case, the best approach in identifying and analyzing the peer-reviewed articles involves paying close attention to the credibility of the writing. Google Scholar is one of the most trusted databases since the experts must evaluate all the articles before they are stored in the database(Halevi, Moed& Bar-Ilan, 2017). Secondly, it is to understand whether the peer-reviewed article uses first-hand information or data from other research articles. Articles utilizing first-hand information are more credible than the ones using data from other peer-reviewed papers. The other effective method is determining whether a peer-reviewed article is qualitative or quantitative. A person with less knowledge of mathematics and statistics needs to use qualitative research articles since they dont use numbers to provide their findings. The first strategy that I would apply in finding a relevant peer-reviewed article is the use of specific databases pertinent to the field of my research and the research question. The second strategy uses keywords to limit the number of research found in the database, thus increasing the chance of getting a specific article. Since I am in the nursing field, I intend to use the University Library databases since it allows one to search articles based on one an academic year. Under the library databases, I will use CINAHL Plus since its deals with the nursing profession. In the future, I intend to use CINAHL since it is more user-friendly and always stores peer-reviewed articles, which the experts have proved before been stored in the CINAHL(Hopia&Heikkilä, 2020). Additionally, the database also has an excellent webinar transcript that will enable me to filter a topic based on the topic and subtopics making me narrow to a specific article. References Duch, W. Week 5 | Part 5: Professional Development I have developed a curriculum vitae to capture my academic and professional accomplishments to date. The results of my efforts are below. Directions: Complete Step a curriculum vitae (CV) in the space provided. Professional development Nursing professional development is a long and progressive journey (Borup & Evmenova, 2019). All nurses from different practices should set professional development goals that are achievable to ensure that they are able to progress in their careers. In my case, I have many different development goals, which include becoming a professional Psychiatric Nurse Practice in one of the healthcare facilities in the United States. Becoming a PMHNP will enable me to be aggressive and proactive in the primary setting care where I will be able to provide other care in other coexisting physical health conditions. Becoming a PMHNP effectively integrates psychiatric health and medical care by setting and developing goals that will ensure I succeed in my career progression. My goal under PMHNP is to attain the highest skills, competence, and knowledge to work efficiently as a Nurse Practitioner. The other objective under PMHNP is to enhance good relationships with other colleagues in the working place. Achieving the goals is critical since it will enable me to achieve my dreams of providing cultural-based care. Therefore, considerable commitment, effort, and time to achieve this professional development goal is required. The second development goal is to achieve a clinical experience that provides diagnoses, access, and companionate treatments. Through my duty, I will ensure I apply holistic philosophy care (Massimi, Marzuillo, Di Muzio, Vacchio, DAndrea, Villari & De Vito, 2017). Throughout my experience with patients with hemodialysis, I realize that a multidisciplinary approach of care enables patients to receive dement care and result in fast recovery of patients. Emphasizing this realization will enable me to use the social workers for wellness, a dietitian for nutrition, and resource to improve the healthcare needs for psychological challenges patients in the healthcare sector. The process will strengthen the relationship between all the stakeholders in the healthcare facilities. References Borup, J., & Evmenova, A. S. (2019).
