Please response to professor and the each peer Professor response to my discussion Mary, Im glad to read that you have learned some important lessons that can be used within your classes. CTE, UDL, and gamification are great choices. It is important to keep students engaged and motivated. If this can be done in a fun manner, it will make for an even better experience. You mentioned using gamification enhances their learning motivation and creates positive competition. However, some students can handle the competition, while others might show aggressiveness especially if they lose the game. How would you control such a situation within your class? Please explain your response. Dr. J. Peer 1    Gamification, Universal Design Learning (UDL), and Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) are the top three skills, concepts, or resources I have gained in this course that are most relevant to my anticipated professional role as a teacher. Gamification is a strategy that I think has a tremendous benefit for learners. I will use it to make learning fun and motivate students to fully engage and participate in class. Students are given attainable goals and have a reward system with in the game that encourages and motivates them. The students are challenged at their level of understanding before the lesson gradually increases in difficulty and progresses toward their mastery of the new concept or skill.       UDL removes obstacles that can prevent a student from learning and ensures that every student has an equal opportunity to be successful. UDLs goal is to proactively value diversity such that supports are embedded in instructional materials before a student needs them. (Edyburn 2013) Inclusive technologies: Tools for helping diverse learners achieve academic success (2nd ed.). Bridgepoint Education. It delivers instruction in many different formats to make it plain to everyone no matter how they prefer to learn. I will incorporate it into my instruction to help students gain a full understanding of the curriculum while acquiring new abilities that propel them into their future, and help them develop a passion for learning.       CAI differentiates a lesson. It is always accessible and presents it in an interactive format that engages and motives students to participate and give maximum effort. I will use it as a tutor and to provide extra help to struggling students with personalized instruction in needed areas. It incorporates some of the benefits as gamification and allows options for knowledge building and reinforcement of learning in and out of the classroom by allowing student access anytime and anywhere.        Technology connects teachers with their students while preparing them for an increasingly digitized and computerized future and gives them access to all types of information. Technology affords curious gifted students with almost limitless opportunities for exploration and development of their interests. (Housand, 2012) By incorporating it in to your instruction it differentiates your lesson and makes it easy to accommodate different learning styles to maximize the learning potential of every student. Technology gives students an opportunity to collaborate and use each other as mentors freeing up valuable time for the teacher. It also allows them to learn at their own pace while providing instant feedback about their understanding of the new information to ensure comprehension. It allows teachers to focus on where the student is struggling and cater to or focus on that area. I will use it to engage my class and make learning relevant and fun and ensure every student has an equal chance to succeed.       Technology supports differentiated learning experiences by giving students a different way to express what they have learned and by delivering content that engages them and supports their development. Technology-enriched elementary classrooms are conducive to higher levels of mathematics achievement, higher levels of self-esteem, and student-centered environments among low socioeconomic status elementary children. (Page, 2002) It provides positive and meaningful experiences with tools that will be used throughout their academic careers and beyond. As technology continues to advance it is important that education continues to evolve around it and that educators continue to incorporate it into their instruction methods and techniques. I will use technology to give students different avenues to acquire knowledge and to save time. References: Edyburn, D. L. (2013). Peer 2 Hello Everyone. · Construct a list of the top three concepts, skills, and/or resources that you have gained in this course and that are most relevant to your current or anticipated professional role. These could be knowledge, skills, or attitudes related to the course topic, related to your abilities as a graduate student, or other relevant learning for you professionally that has come from this course experience. Include a brief description of each item in your list.   The top three concepts, skills, and resources that my learning has deepened in this course are most relevant to me: Career and Technical Education(CTE), Universal Design for Learning and learning(ULD), and gamification. CTE is important for 21st-century secondary students. It may even keep many students in school because it gives them something relevant to their immediate future. CTE helps students gain hands-on hard skills they may utilize in the workforce.   Universal Design for Learning(UDL) is meaningful as its three principles, engagement, representation, and action and expression. All have guidelines every educator can utilize to make lesson planning include all students. For example, action may consist of surveying what students are interested in and what they like about school and having those interests in their lesson plans where appropriate. Educators may maximize student engagement through technological tools and AI to assist students with their learning needs. Educators may allow students to use various means to communicate their learning with action and expression.  The gamification of learning makes learning fun and engaging for all students. Most students are naturally attracted to games. Games are interactive, immersive, and challenging in a fun way. Educators might use traditional education games and video games that offer intrinsic motivation for students to learn. Students may naturally challenge each other to get higher scores which are motivating as well.  · Describe how technology enhances instruction in the classroom and your current and/or anticipated professional role.   Technology provides educators with endless resources they can use to facilitate lesson plans. Technology assistance helps students who are visually or hearing impaired, as well as all students. Educators can assign and grade papers through email. Educators can plan virtual field trips. Educators may choose to utilize smart boards during whole-class instruction.   ·      Discuss how technology supports differentiated learning experiences for a variety of learners and their unique needs.   Technology and differentiation go hand and hand. Technology offers students multiple ways to express themselves and communicate their ideas both verbally and nonverbally. For example, students may create and share their ideas through a PowerPoint presentation. Students can utilize learning games. Students can do their research for essays without going to a library.    -- Jane   Resources: Edyburn, D. L. Understood.org(2021) Peer 3 Manage Discussion Entry 1. Motivation in the 21st-century 2. Minimizing modifications for individual students 3. Using a UDL for lesson plans           The top three concepts, skills, and resources that I have gained knowledge of and are the most useful to my classroom are motivating students in the 21st-century, minimizing modifications for individual students, and using a UDL for lesson plans. Motivation is the key to your student’s success, and it is especially hard to motivate students in the 21st-century. Motivation is usually something that interests the students so finding that and applying it to learning can give your students the incentive they need. Minimizing modifications for individual students gives the teacher more time to focus on the class. You can do this by using a UDL lesson plan and including many forms to distribute the information. Using the UDL lesson plan helps me stay focused on the goals and include different types of learning for everyone.           Technology is very important in education. I use multimedia presentations and other technologies into the classroom to help engage the students. Students with learning disabilities use technology to help support their learning. Someone with a hearing disability might be provided with a slideshow with notes or use voice to text on the computer to get notes and understand what the teacher is saying. This also helps include students with disabilities in all classrooms, including mine. In my classroom I have a lot of non-verbal students, so we like to do learning games on the computer. I also give their assessments on the computer if I can, which helps diversify my time and let me assess all students in a swift manner.           Technology supports differentiated learning experiences for a variety of learners and their unique needs because it incorporates ways of learning that we did not have in the past. Teachers can now use presentations for visual learners, explore through virtual field trips, use computers for learning activities and assessments, and incorporate any IEP or learning plan into a google classroom and have the students work at their own pace. When Covid hit, schools shut their doors and went virtual. Technology was the main use of learning and should be applied in every classroom. Technology is a great way to learn new skills in a demanding world. (McGraw- Hill, 2018) References McGraw- Hill. (2018, October 26). Consider that the role of the classroom teacher is the crucial factor in the full development and use of technology adoption in schools. As a result, to reach the goal of preparing teachers for effective technology use, a well-designed professional development program is essential. Professional development as it relates to best practices of technology use in the classroom must be viewed as an ongoing and integral part of teachers professional lives. MY REPONSE: Hello everyone. The top three concepts, skills, and resources that I enjoy learning in the class that will be applicable in my current and future teaching career include Career and Technology Education (CTE). These programs offer students the necessary academic and technical skills they need to perform their tasks in their future careers (Edyburn, 2013). They are essential in enhancing their effectiveness in succeeding in their future careers. The second selection is the gamification of courses. The application of gamification in teaching students enhances their learning motivation creates positive competition hence improving their performance. The last option is the Universal Design for Learning (UDL). UDL encourages teachers to develop flexible curricular that meet the needs of all students. Every teacher must ensure that their students’ needs are considered during the lesson irrespective of their differences (Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education, n d).            Technology provides educators with various educational outlets to facilitate their teachings. As teachers, it is essential to ensure constant student participation and engagement. The use of technology promotes easy and quick enables teachers to deliver more personalized learning and technology that help in bridging the gap between learning in the classroom and at home.           Technology is critical in promoting learning differentiation. It gives students more ways to learn, understand, and comprehend informant. It also enhances the interaction between students through different platforms, including audio tutorials, videos, technological applications, and other specific resources in meeting each student’s needs (Edyburn, 2013). It is easy for a teacher to pace lessons right away with technology and enable learners to gain knowledge in various intelligence.            In conclusion, the special needs course has greatly enhanced my knowledge, role, and responsibility as a teacher. It instills knowledge on how to facilitate effective and inclusive learning to ensure that the needs of all learners are adequately met.   References Edyburn, D. L.
