Please refer to the hospital as “place your name here” Global Hospital. Global Hospital owns a network of hospitals supported by four (4) office buildings. Their original design, depicted in Figure 1, was categorized as a medium-size network for 200 to 1,000 devices. They have well surpassed this and added new services in telemedicine. In addition, it has several flaws. You, as their senior network engineer, are tasked with the job of a complete re-design. Overview In this project, you will study performance improvements in a congested, wired WAN environment that can be solved to varying degrees by a new IT infrastructure design and fully functional implementation in Cisco Packet Tracer. Instructions Project Requirements · Take screenshots demonstrating your network, servers, configurations, and protocols properly functioning in the new design. Screenshots must include a unique piece of information identifying the student’s computer along with a proper operating system date/time. The whole world is connected with different devices and protocol in some way or another. Please use third person voice. “We” is unknown as there is only one author. Also, start with the objectives rather than high-level story telling as your audience is composed of network professionals and they understand LAN, WANs, etc well. Thus, focus on what you problems you are solving and introduce the associated research to solve these. We use Local Area Network (LAN) to connect internal organization users to use the network. We use Wide Area Network (WAN) to connect different organizations to communicate between them. LAN is a term that is usually used to communicate inside a building and WAN is used to communicate to different countries. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is used to connect different cities. LAN is a network which typically has small or large users who usually inside a building or home. WAN is to connect those LAN users to the internet. MAN is similar to the LAN, but it is the connection between some college campus or city. For this project, a corporate network was designed using LAN and WAN. The organization already has a current network design which is currently running. The user requirement is less than 1000. But the project goal is to create a new design which will support more than 1000 user for the organization network. Some routers, switches, cables, and other networking equipment need to add to the existing network to meet the requirement. There are some new things to the project, the project new requirement is to add four front-end web servers and there should be a load balancer which will balance the traffic to the network. Two database servers and one Storage Area Network (SAN) is needed to meet the requirement of the project where user will store their data. The organization has their Enterprise Resource Planning solution which will run through the front-end web servers. The main purpose of the project is to extend the existing network to a new one. Note, you want to include at least 2-3 scholarly articles in the introduction and another couple in the conclusion. IT Framework There are several IT framework or standard by which different organization establish their infrastructure. Some of the IT frameworks are: · TOGAF · Zachman · Gartner’s Enterprise Architecture methods · Dept of Defense Architecture Framework · ISO Standard for Enterprise Modelling · Please cite these so the reader can reference the specific framework. Also, none of these are frameworks we learned in our textbook and you may want to add a few of these. At the minimum as contrasts because several were cited in announcements as meeting the project objectives. And many more but among them The TOGAF is the most used enterprise IT framework. The TOGAF full meaning is *The Open Group Architectural Framework*. It is an enterprise architecture framework which has been developed in 1995. TOGAF provide the guideline on how the organization can create and analyze different elements using a strategy. The TOGAF is a high-level enterprise framework which helps an organization to develop its infrastructure. The TOGAF content framework provides detailed model of an infrastructural information for an organization. The TOGAF has a modular structure and the modular structure of the TOGAF framework supports greater usability which has a set of guidelines. It supports incremental adoption of the TOGAF standard. The TOGAF combines technical and management business aspects of IT. As this is a well-known framework, so many people and professionals all over the world are already familiar with this technology and this is why implementing this Framework is very easy. Interoperability and knowledge repository is excellent in this framework. This is one of the reasons for using this framework. Please make sure you support your work. Also, I would include a heading labeled “literature review” to clearly tell the audience where this begins. I am uncertain if these sections are consider your literature review but they are not supported or have in-text citations with research reviewed. System Feasibility System Feasibility: System feasibility means to find out the possibilities by which we can improve the existing system performance, or we can establish a new system with improved features. It is a method by which we can decide whether our system is compatible with a new problem or not. It is a process by which we find out lack of a system and then check the system whether it has the capabilities to resolve the problem. There are different types of feasibilities. 1. Technical feasibility: In this type we determine whether the existing hardware or software is enough for the system or not. 2. Operational feasibility: In this feasibility type we need to determine whether the existing system is operational for the user or not. 3. Economic feasibility: This is to check whether the total budget of the project is compatible or not. The project should not cross the total budget. Reliability Reliability is term which refers that a system is working properly within a specific time period without any problem. It includes all the components of the system like, router, switch, servers, storages, application, and other related devices. When a system is running according to the requirement, the system called reliable. If there is no error or failure, the system refers to reliable. Though no system is fully reliable, we have a target to achieve. If the system run without any repair or and performance is good enough, the system is reliable for smooth operation. For a system reliability is very important. If the system cannot operate without error, it will be very difficult for use. Availability is the term to measure the system performance for a specific time period. It measures by the differentiation of the total time of the installation of the system and the downtime of the system. Availability= Total running time - Downtime If we measure the total running time and downtime of a system, we can calculate the availability of the system. It means how much time the system has the capability to provide service. Availability is a very important term for a system. If a system has more downtime, it will create a bad effect of the business for an organization. The high availability of a system is expected to ensure improvement of an organization. Serviceability: It is an automatic method of a system to identify and diagnose the system problem when arise. It can also be measured by determining the quality of the services provided by the system. When a system has its feature to identify the problems and to take actions against that issue, the system is more available. If the serviceability good enough, the availability of the system will increase automatically. To protect the system from an unwanted problem serviceability plays an important role. Security: It is a term which refers protection. Security means to keep something confidential or protected from unauthorized access or use. In digital world, security means to keep the data secure from unauthorize access. Security breach is a very serious problem for today’s world. In a system there is so much information stored. Organization information, user personal information, credit/debit card information and some other information usually stored in a system. If the information got leaked, an organization might face a huge financial loss. To ensure security in a system so many processes need to follow. Some of them are: Physical security must be ensured. Access-list should be maintained. Encryption method should be followed Need backups for all the information. Password protection must be implemented. Security devices needs to be installed. Intrusion detection and Intrusion prevention system needs to be installed. Malware or spyware protection should be introduced to the system. Security policy should be implemented. Virtual private network can be used. Disaster recovery: Disaster recovery is a method or ability for an organization to respond within a short time in case of any unwanted situation. Disaster recovery is to create same system to another place for further use in future. There could be any kind of network or infrastructure problem arise, but to run the business an organization needs to get the access of its network quickly. This method of getting the network or system access within a short time refers to disaster recovery system. Any natural disaster or cyber-attack might, or system error could arise for a system. To have the backup system with full functionality is a DR system. If any unwanted situation happens, we must have the ability to get the system access to run the process smoothly. Disaster recovery is one kind of replication process by which we keep our system backup to another place. With the help of Disaster Recovery system, we get our normal system process quickly. Disaster recovery is very important to minimize the business loss. To minimize the interruption of a system and to get back to the business quickly, we need disaster recovery system. In the last several paragraphs, no citations or research exists yet a literature review should begin this project. The very minimum for the literature review is 10 scholarly sources in this project but even at 10, this is very few for a good literature review. I have set 4 front-end web servers ‘’Jerry_Quarles_Web_Server1, Jerry_Quarles_Web_Server2, Jerry_Quarles_Web_Server3 and Jerry_Quarles_Web_Server4 which are already running with load balancing features. I have configured EtherChannel to the switches ‘’Jerry_Quarles_Switch8 and Jerry_Quarles_Switch0’’which are connected to the web server so that they can balance the load between themselves. I have configured a Server ‘’Jerry_Quarles_Storage_Server’’ which acting as a storage server in the network. The ISP1 and ISP2 are connected with the hospital network, and I have configured NAT in the ‘’Jerry_Quarles_ISP_to_Hospital_Router1 and Jerry_Quarles_ISP_to_Hospital_Router2’’ routers which is connected with the hospital network. More than 1000 user will be able to communicate each other smoothly and the network is safe and secure to use. We need to communicate each other to share resources and other information. The network infrastructure is essential to communicate with the people we need. The network should be secure and safe to communicate. If any vulnerability is arisen in the system, the organization will be much more affected with the user. Availability, reliability, and confidentiality is very important for a network. All the devices should work accordingly in the system to make the system work. The project main goal was to develop the new network design so that it can be expand for more than 1000 users. LAN and WAN technology has been implemented I this network design. The network is smooth to communicate but there are also some limitations for the network. The network can be used for more than 1000 people but not for unlimited users. There are no access points implementation by which user would be able to use the internet using their mobile phone. User needs to depend on o the laptop or computer to use the internet. This will hamper the organization process, and this will slow down the work of the users. Not that much security features have been implemented in the system.
