FIELD PRACTICUM LEARNING CONTRACT for FALL 2021
The M/BSW Foundation Field Placement Learning Contract (FPLC) is a written learning agreement established between the student, field instructor, and the College of Social Work (COSW) at the University of South Carolina (USC) for each TERM (not year). BSW Generalist/ MSW Foundation field instruction is part of the COSW’s competency-based curriculum, designed to comply with the 2008 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)’s Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). The primary educational focus for this year of study is the practice and mastery of ten competencies as they relate to forty-one (41) practice behaviors identified by CSWE. The FPLC and end of year evaluation are designed to assess for and measure progress in these areas. Given the diverse nature of both the field organizations and our students, no two FPLC’s should be identical, and the FPLC should be specific enough to provide students with a clear overview of learning goals. The FPLC should be viewed as a flexible, working document that guides the learning process for the academic term.
