Running Head: AN APPROACH PROPOSED FOR GATHERING DATA 2 AN APPROACH PROPOSED FOR GATHERING DATA 2 Name Course Tutor Institution Date Proposing A Data Gathering Approach The Request of the Client and the Goals of the Client on the Project The Request of Michelles: All the resources of regional training are supposed to be reported to her team. The External OD consultant- In need of an outside partner who in any way does not have a special stake in the outside for the provision of a voice that is objective. The goals of Michelle for the Project: To create an organization that is ideal in the launching of TLG solution in the coming phase; make sure there is an improvement in the organizational training; make sure there are new products in the market quickly; a reduction in the costs; retain the current job that she has The Presenting problems The common problems in the organization Complaints from the customers even from the loyal base; different products are working as promised; the sales representatives cannot demonstrate the products accurately; the service department is not in a position to accurately point out the root cause of the problems that the consumers are experiencing The training issues The service representatives and sales personnel do not really know adequately about the products; the customer service technicians do not have some of the most significant basic and primary knowledge of problem solving that will help them troubleshoot The Complex Problems of the Organization The TLG solution is in the spending an important amount of money and time on making sure that training takes place in the organization. However, the organization is not getting the improvement that it really needs (Sembay et al., 2020); the model put in place by Michelle is not efficient; not all the regions are extensively incorporated in the training that is to be provided by Michelle’s team; other regions are designed to receive their own training program that is different, instead of making use of the program designed by Michelle’s team The Underlying Problems There is no clear understanding of each and every region by Michelle’s team. Different regions have their own unique needs, and what successfully works in one region might fail in the other; there is no proper collaboration between Michelle’s teams that are in the other regions; there are some of the regions that are not included in the design process and thus some of the regions are really discouraged in making use of the program; there are some of the regions that have made up their minds in making use of own designs and programs which in the end might not work; the other different regions are not giving the required feedback as to the reason why the resources that were developed by Michelle’s team will not successfully work in their regions; according to my own view, the problem that have been mentioned previously are the problems to be experienced. All these problems can be solved at the same time by making sure that there is a discussion between Michelle’s team and other regions, and coming up with designs that work and meet the needs of the different regions (Brooks, 2017). The that will illustrate the occurrence of the underlying problems The Data that will illustrate the occurrence of the underlying problems There is need to get feedback from the leaders who are recognized by individuals in these different regions with the programs designed Michelle’s team are not working. This will make it easy for Michelle’s team to have an understanding of a given region and thus assist them in focusing on the program that works for them while in their region. There is need to have metrics to really prove that the training programs that are in existence in the other regions are a success. If the programs are not a success in different regions then the individuals will articulate it. Some of the methods of data collection are: The interviews To get an understanding of each and every given region and their different needs Having a meeting in a personal environment the regional leaders are likely to given an honest and genuine feedback to the reason why the program is not successfully working in their region. There are new issues that might be brought up There can be a discussion on the program that works and what Michelle’s team can do make sure that the program has been customized and thus objectives successfully achieved. Advantages The interviewees are more likely to be honest when it comes to their personal environment; The interviewer can always carry out a follow-up on the significant issues and even explore different situations in deeper details; Interviews are more personal; The consultants can easily capture the different examples given and quoting them effectively; Different issues which are new can be revealed during the interview process Disadvantages Interviews can be time consuming and have intensive data; They can be expensive; The trust between the interviewee and the interviewer needs to be established; The analysis of an interview can be time-consuming The Proposal 1. The interviewing of Michelle’s team and the regional leaders To have a clear understanding of the needs of every region for Michelle’s team to help in the designing of a program that is customized. To find out which part of the program that was designed by Michelle’s team has commonalities in all the regions. Clearly find out which parts are not in a position to provide the required feedback so that Michelle’s team can really focus on what needs to be redesigned to meet the needs of the region. To find out whether the different training programs that the leaders of different regions have implemented are a success. If the programs are not a success, then the regional leaders and Michelle’s team can come up with a program that works best and is more effective. There can be a discussion on how further the program is to be extended (Fleming et al., 2017). New issues can be brought out and Michelle’s team and the regional leaders can engage in a discussion on how to successfully resolve these given issues. 2. Make an announcement of the project to Michelle’s team together with the regional leaders for the purpose of informing them of the data that will be collected. The Feedback provided by Michelle’s team The Feedback that will be provided by the regional leaders The metrics that will measure the success of the training program in each and every region (Silva et al., 2018). 3. Make sure that preparation has been done, together with the scheduling of interviews Make a preparation of an interview process with relevant questions Proper scheduling of interviews should be done between Michelle and the regional leaders 4. Collection of Data It is comprised of notes written down from the interviews Gathering the necessary documents that act as a prove of whether the current training program is a success or not 5. The analysis and presentation of the data Make a choice of a diagnostic model which will be used to analyze data and give the best feedback to Michelle (Sembay et al., 2020).
