The team member’s behavior impacts the task they perform. Individuals who indicate more collaborative and cooperative work might are assigned tasks that involve direct communication and interaction with the client. The team members for this responsibility are chosen to ensure that they relate with the client effectively on behalf of the project members to avoid conflict. Trustworthy individuals are assigned the responsibility of finalizing an important part of the project. They show highly reliable conduct and therefore are dependable to carry essential tasks of the project. The people known for questioning every project phase might be assigned with project risk and assessment. They will also be responsible for risk prevention tasks. They exhibit the conduct of seeing things differently hence making them ideal for foreseeing any project risks. The laid back project members that are less eager will be given routine responsibilities that need minimum motivation or innovation.
The Key processes
Project scheduling plays an instrumental role in project management. It is one of the most visible and the largest aspect of Financial Information Management System management. The six processes that will be vital in the implementation and completion of the FIMs project will revolve around; first, plan schedule management. Second, explanation and definition of activities is also an important process in managing the project timeline (Sadkowska, 2016). Third, project sequencing of activities such as things required in implementing the Financial Information Management System is vital in determining project timeline. Further, estimating the resources required to complete a particular activity (Sadkowska, 2016). Fifth, the duration and timeline required to complete a project activity and finally, developing the schedule will be crucial in managing the time required to complete the planning and implementation of the FIMS system initiative.
The baseline of an exemplary project is setting the procedures, documentation guidelines and the company policies governing the FIMS project. In this case, the collaborative and cooperative team member will outline the project resources and any contingencies that may occur (Sadkowska, 2016). They will also be responsible for listing all stakeholders and discuss and lists all the people required approving the timeline and others responsible for receiving the copy of the project schedule.
Definition of project activities is also crucial in managing project scheduling .In case the FIMS system project is complicated, the trustworthy team members will need to utilize their team organization skills in organizing the activities in a chart or a table. The people known for question everything will be required to determine dependencies so as to identify the task that relies on others for them to be completed (Sadkowska, 2016). After identifying any tasks relying on others, it is vital to sequence and range them in order. In other words the nature of all FIMS system activity will determine the order and de dates each task will take (Sadkowska, 2016). The laid back team members will be required to make an estimation of resources such as workspace, personnel, and subcontractor costs among others. In this case, it will be vital to consider activities specific to FIMS system project. The laid back team members will also estimate the timeline or duration that each project city will take and them develop the project timeline with specific due dates. In this case, ensure that all information is available to help complete the project schedule.
Precedence Diagram Method
Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) is a visual representation technique that shows the activities involved in a project. It consists of the construction of a network diagram that makes use of nodes to represent activities and connects them to arrows to show dependencies. These network-scheduling techniques will provide the project managers for the FIMS project with a powerful tool for controlling and scheduling their projects or programs. Essentially, they allow for the graphic imaging of relationships and FIMS activities. This will provide them with the basis for identifying a possible reallocation of resources, predicting shortages, and is fundamental in determining the FIMS critical path in solving problems.
The PDM will also be crucial in doing away with confusion that may result from the shortages, uncommunicated reallocations, among others, that may cause any form of conflict during the FIMS implentation (Hofmann, Sackmann & Betke, 2015). The managers are provided with control over schedules and activities, and current FIMS or program status, as the network schedules are easy to update and rework by the readily available software. In doing so, it makes it easier for the managers to manage their team, and to monitor the progress of every individual and adding extra resources in places that he deems weak or lagging.
Role of Critical Path
Critical path plays an essential role in determining which tasks are more important in a project. One can visualize the critical path activities of the Finance Information management System, the sequences and the task durations when the critical path is displayed as a bar chart, such as a Gantt chart. However, they are easy to identify in the Smart sheet as the critical path lines are outlined in red, thus providing a higher insight level into the correlation between tasks and the timeline of your project.
Critical path is instrumental in FIMS task assignment and negotiation since 1t helps one to determine the task durations that need adjustments and those that need to be maintained. If the aim is to complete the project in a shorter period, then there is, need to determine the tasks that are best for time adjustment. Additionally, the critical path provides enhanced visibility and a clear direction into what is next, and whose responsibility it is (Kelleher, 2003). Once these ownership expectations and the critical tasks are identified, then the undivided attention from the lack of direction, or competing priorities. Through this, the manager will be in a better position to allocate the resources given that everyone understands what is expected of them and the tasks they are responsible for handling.
