I chose the Vikings as the genre, and the theme because the first images that exist whenever individuals talk about them are that of barbaric, violent, and savages responsible for the terror experiences on Northern Europe. Besides, the images are also promulgated in various films, poems and narratives relative around the Scandinavian people. Although such proclamations’ may be inaccurate to some level, they may not be true. The thing that inspired my findings is that I realized how important constellations were during the ancient period while watching the stars one day. My grandfather had told me many stories about how people in the ancient period used stars constellations to tell the month and period. Hence, traditionally, for an individual’s living during this period, to have information and knowledge about the stars and calendar was an important facet in determining many economic activities. Their knowledge of traveling in boats could have only been possible with capable skills in understanding timelines and calendars. Although we have learned various types of constellations and how meteorologists use them in the contemporary eras, I believe that the science capacity demonstrated by the Vikings is an indicator of how effective science can be in showcasing the advent and direction of nature. Their science level was also amicable since for individuals to cross the sea for trade and global exploration. In the Scandinavian timeline, few instances make sense relative to the Viking Age.
