YOUR PERSONALIZED STRENGTHS INSIGHTS What makes you stand out?

Chances are good that you unlock the door to success by conquering your shortcomings. You intentionally set goals that force you to confront your limitations. Typically you aim to gain a working knowledge of unfamiliar subjects and acquire enough skill to produce acceptable results. Instinctively, you usually offer people useful suggestions about what needs to be fixed, upgraded, renovated, or done better. By nature, you automatically look for better ways to distribute available human or material resources. When the current plan no longer works, you simply redesign it. Then you show individuals or groups how the new process can help them be much more productive, efficient, or effective. Driven by your talents, you undoubtedly consider ways you can enhance standardized procedures that already serve you well. SHARED THEME DESCRIPTION
People who are especially talented in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions.
YOUR PERSONALIZED STRENGTHS INSIGHTS What makes you stand out?
Instinctively, you are more interested in gathering ideas, theories, or concepts during conversations with intelligent people than you are in being well known or famous. You tend to be most satisfied when your mind is absorbing thoughts you have never before considered. In addition, you enjoy broadening the thinking of others. Chances are good that you delve into intriguing subject matter. You read, write, listen to lectures, experiment, and research topics to broaden your understanding of them. Often you think of questions no one else has ever asked. Just as often, you find your own answers. Because of your strengths, you have kept conversations centered on ideas since childhood. As a child, you likely listened carefully to discussions among adults. This approach allowed you to join in without rocking the boat — that is, without causing trouble where none was welcome. Today, you continue to listen intently to collect information before adding your ideas, contributing your insights, offering your suggestions, or asking your questions. Driven by your talents, you probably dedicate time to reading, listening, and scrutinizing facts as well as ideas. Consequently, people seek your counsel. Why? They recognize your knowledge and skills. You are a valuable source of information for your family, friends, colleagues, or classmates. By nature, you have new ideas whirling around in your head much of the time. You are very interested in solving problems, conceiving new concepts, designing plans, or understanding everyday matters.

YOUR PERSONALIZED STRENGTHS INSIGHTS What makes you stand out?
By nature, you relieve people of the burden of having to figure out what you think, feel, and need. How? You simply tell them. Your plainspoken approach enhances their understanding of you as a person. Your straightforward expression of your needs and desires usually eliminates any confusion. Instinctively, you persuade individuals to do whatever it takes to reach their goals. When you step forward and exercise your authority, you urge most people to reach for excellence. Chances are good that you intentionally welcome people from diverse backgrounds, education levels, occupations, age groups, or nationalities. You typically comprehend why individuals think or feel they way they do. As a result, you undoubtedly view the world from perspectives that differ markedly from your own. Because of your strengths, you constantly investigate the “hows” and “whys” of a given situation. You find relationships between the final result and the events preceding it. These links enable you to understand how things come into being. You draw logical conclusions. These often broaden your knowledge base. Driven by your talents, you are a good ally for people who are uncomfortable or overwhelmed at the prospect of interpreting numerical information. Numbers are your language. They speak to you. They tell you stories. They allow you to make sense of things. You can take them apart and reconfigure them. You understand and appreciate the logic embedded in data.

Futuristic
SHARED THEME DESCRIPTION

YOUR PERSONALIZED STRENGTHS INSIGHTS What makes you stand out?
Chances are good that you commonly welcome into your life and give your approval to a broader range of personalities than many individuals do. Your interest in people leads to discoveries about what needs to be done and what can be done in the coming weeks, months, years, or decades. It’s very likely that you think intensely to conceive vivid mental images of the future. Many individuals lack your ability to envision what will be possible in the coming months, years, or decades. As a result, they regularly rely on you to do this visioning for them. Instinctively, you prefer mapping paths toward your long-term goals. You usually create orderly and detailed tactics to secure your objectives. Customarily, you are energized by what you can accomplish. By nature, you have a capacity for envisioning what the coming months, years, or decades could, should, or will be like. Frequently you are prompted to transform your ideas into things you can touch, taste, see, smell, or hear. Driven by your talents, you naturally consider what you can accomplish in the coming weeks, months, years, or decades. You usually get more done when you have goals. Pondering what you can upgrade, enhance, or perfect motivates you to excel at higher levels than you have in the past.
Questions

Consistency
SHARED THEME DESCRIPTION
People who are especially talented in the Consistency theme are keenly aware of the need to treat people the same. They try to treat everyone in the world with consistency by setting up clear rules and adhering to them.
YOUR PERSONALIZED STRENGTHS INSIGHTS What makes you stand out?
Chances are good that you are open to welcoming a wide array of people into your life. Being practical, you realize every individual you meet possesses talents, skills, and experiences that you and those you already know lack. Typically you are the person who helps people find reasons to befriend, work, and cooperate with newcomers and outsiders. Instinctively, you establish patterns of behavior to free you from having to think about how you perform repetitious tasks. Your carefully constructed rules and procedures minimize the amount of time you must spend handling details and managing deadlines on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis. You simply want your systems to be reliable, functional, and efficient. Plans incorporating moderation or common sense appeal to you much more than those reflecting extremism or poor judgment. By nature, you realize your attention span is limited. For that reason, you often use regular procedures to make the most of your study or work time. You have more success when you adhere to your proven patterns of behavior day after day. Interrupting that rhythm for even one hour can make it quite difficult for you to get back on course. You expect others to help you be more productive by honoring the rules and systems you have established to improve your concentration. Driven by your talents, you traditionally establish repetitious processes to enhance your own and others’ efficiency. Recurring tasks probably take less time and thought when you do them the same way day after day. This explains how you manage to finish your work, meet your deadlines, handle details, or carry your fair share of the workload. It’s very likely that you usually find a practical way to accomplish whatever you set out to do. You think of methods to make tasks easier for yourself or others. You probably balance the workload so everyone involved expends the same amount of time, effort, or energy. You exhibit a strong drive to see things through from start to finish. Undoubtedly, you appreciate people who do not quit in the middle of a project.

Leadership Class
Assignment: Personal Leadership Philosophies
Many of us can think of leaders we have come to admire, be they historical figures, pillars of the industry we work in, or leaders we know personally. The leadership of individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Thatcher has been studied and discussed repeatedly. However, you may have interacted with leaders you feel demonstrated equally competent leadership without ever having a book written about their approaches.
What makes great leaders great? Every leader is different, of course, but one area of commonality is the leadership philosophy that great leaders develop and practice. A leadership philosophy is basically an attitude held by leaders that acts as a guiding principle for their behavior. While formal theories on leadership continue to evolve over time, great leaders seem to adhere to an overarching philosophy that steers their actions.
What is your leadership philosophy? In this Assignment, you will explore what guides your own leadership.
To Prepare:
1. Identify two to three scholarly resources, in addition to this Module’s readings, that evaluate the impact of leadership behaviors in creating healthy work environments.
2. Reflect on the leadership behaviors presented in the three resources that you selected for review.
3. Reflect on your results of the Clifton Strengths Assessment, and consider how the results relate to your leadership traits.
The Assignment (3 pages):
Personal Leadership Philosophies
Develop and submit a personal leadership philosophy that reflects what you think are characteristics of a good leader. Use the scholarly resources on leadership you selected to support your philosophy statement. Your personal leadership philosophy should include the following:
1. A description of your core values.
2. A personal mission/vision statement.
3. An analysis of your CliftonStrengths Assessment summarizing the results of your profile
4.A description of two key behaviors that you wish to strengthen.
5.A development plan that explains how you plan to improve upon the two key behaviors you selected and an explanation of how you plan to achieve your personal vision. Be specific and provide examples.
6.Be sure to incorporate your colleagues’ feedback on your CliftonStrengths Assessment from this Module’s Discussion.
